maybe it’s that virginia in me

homecoming was so sweet & endearing.
to return to a place we call home on the hill, to give and receive love from those who have experienced life alongside you, helped shape you, and poured into you (and vice versa), is one of the sweetest joys. there’s something so special about returning to a place that holds so much of who you are and witnessing just how much growth has taken place, in yourself and in those around you.

Talk about a Full Circle Moment🎬🥲 I can finally talk about !
It’s really a Different World.
Thank God for this opportunity, all the connections, beautiful spirits I’ve met along the way. 🫶🏽

Anyone that knows me knows I’ll never shut up about what this legacy of a show means to me, as it does for a lot of us HBCU alumni. To be considered, selected and filmed for the sequel of such a legendary show means the world to me.

A huge shoutout to my family for pushing me to even go for it & audition

Tune in on NETFLIX now, we need shows like this

My Alpha Delta Rho Sistas 🐸🎬

Me ? In the Pit? No way
Me? Sharing the screen with Whitley Gilbert-Wayne? No way

Should’ve brought my flip-ups 🥲

pure JOY.
I flew last minute from BWI> ATL, got stopped by security because of a small mishap on the list, still made it on time to practice and let out my jitters in the bathroom before auditioning .

As always, shout out to my beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Hope yall are proud

my set soul sista, miss @mimiharriss 🫶🏽🎬

Life Update🍭: said bye bye to my life in the DMV & hello hotlanta

Definitely cried like a baby leaving my friends + family I made in DC. Atlanta is a place I have always wanted to live since I was a little girl.
Now here we are, mid twenties, starting “over” but in the way I want . Film School, Acting, Life, New Friendships, & whatever else God puts on my heart by @thealiyahjoy

twenty seven, the years almost over, thank you Jesus. lol

*zoom in the post for little surprises*

These years have gone by so fast & yet have steadily continued to build me up to be the woman God has ordained me to be since 08.09.99.
I prayed prayed prayed & prayed some more for all of these blessings. Kept alot private this year (hard for me lol) & even suffered in silence in hopes of the day I could announce such blessings . And here it is, and by my birthday no doubt. This is all I’ve ever wanted, truly . Didn’t need a big party this year, just spending some last moments with those that have touched me over my time. With my praying also came heartache, grief, depression, but JOY came arising through each morning along with the blessings I waited for ! Just as my parents named it to do 🫶🏽

God, I thank you for 26 & what it’s taught me
God, I thank you for my time in the DMV 🪩
God, I thank you for Georgia State Film School
God, I thank you for a FULL RIDE scholarship + a job
God, I thank you for my apartment approval 🥲
God, I thank you for my family + friends
God, I just thank you & can’t believe all this is happening for me.

DMV it’s been oh so real, Atlanta here I come, finally.
