Senior Data Analyst | Healthcare Data Analyst | Mentor | Role Model | Passionate advocate for Women in Data and Tech| TechWomen100 Award Winner 2025

POSTS STORIES REELS

Earlier this week, I was a mentor for the MUFG leadership programme, mentoring women at different levels of their careers.

It was an amazing time. We had great conversations about career progression, work life balance and dealing with challenges in the workplace.

I went to support other women, but also learned a lot from listening to their experiences.

Thank you @wearethecity_hq for the opportunity by @theannealyst

I have been named a TechWomen100 Award Winner 2025.

Feeling so honoured to be recognised by the judges and incredibly proud to be named alongside such an inspiring line-up of women in technology.

Huge thanks to @wearethecity_hq for shining a light on women in tech and to KPMG for powering this award.

So grateful for all the encouragement and support, it really means the world 🙏.

Here’s to celebrating women, tech, and the future we are shaping together.

My data analytics journey so far and every programme I have undertaken, and what I learned from each one. Swipe through to see them all.

People often ask me how I got into data analytics. It wasn't one course. It was steady learning while working full time except for when I did my MSc when I worked part time, it was one programme at a time, from my first certificate in 2020 to my most recent Microsoft Fabric training this year.

Each step built on the last. Some taught me tools like Power BI, SQL and Python. Others taught me how to think, and some taught me how to turn data into decisions.

If you are just starting out or thinking about a career change into data, you don't need to do everything at once.

Pick one, build projects and keep going.

Save this for when you need it, and share it with someone starting their data journey. Which stage are you at right now? by @theannealyst

It's November and it already feels like the year is over. But it isn't. At the start of 2026 I made a list of things I wanted to achieve. I've ticked off most of them, but a few are still outstanding. So I'm making the most of November to close those out. If you've got unfinished goals too, there's still time. Don't write the year off yet. by @theannealyst

This Saturday I'm joining a free virtual masterclass with Health Data-IQ: Becoming a health data analyst: What it actually takes.

I'll be sharing the honest version of my journey into health data: what I studied, what actually made the difference, and what I wish someone had told me at the start.

I'll be speaking alongside Emmanuel Isaac and Jennifer Joseph, hosted by Cynthia Nwajiobi. If you are thinking about a move into health data, or you are early in the journey, come and ask us anything.

Saturday 24 October
10AM WAT / 11AM CET

I used a prompt to ask ChatGPT and Claude to tell me everything they remember about me.

The list was longer than I expected. My job, my family, my travel plans, even things I had forgotten I ever mentioned. So I told Claude what I wanted it to forget, and it removed them.

Here's why you should know what your AI knows about you:

1. Safety. AI is changing fast and no one knows exactly where it's heading. The less personal information it holds about you, the safer you are.

2. Your life changes. Old details about your job or plans can still shape the answers you get today.

3. Small details add up. Things you mention once can build a full picture of your life over time.

4. Wrong information means wrong help. Out of date details can end up in your CVs, emails and advice.

5. You should be in control. Your personal data deserves the same care as the data you handle at work.

Tip: never share passwords, bank details or ID numbers with any AI.

Want the prompt I used? Drop a comment and I'll send it to you. by @theannealyst

It's Women in Tech Week. From the 12th to the 16th of October, WeAreTechWomen brings together the UK's biggest celebration of women in technology, with free events online and in person across the country.

A whole week to champion visibility, collaboration and change, and to make sure women are part of the future of tech.

If you're in tech, thinking about it, or cheering someone on, this is your week by @theannealyst

We had a Connecting Cultures event at work this week and it was so beautiful to see all the different countries dressed in their lovely attires. There was food from so many places and I tried a bit of everything, all different flavours. There were dances and displays from different countries too. It was lovely to see diversity being celebrated like this.

Team Nepal

Brazil

Zimbabwe

Kenya

Nigeria bringing the Igbo traditional wedding to life, colour, culture and so much joy.

India lighting up the floor with a gorgeous traditional dance. So much grace and energy.

Nepal taking us through their beautiful traditional dance. Simply stunning to watch.

I tried different food and the Kenya Pilau was my best. by @theannealyst

I keep hearing people say they avoid LinkedIn because everyone there is fake or showing off.

I get it. But show me one social media platform where people aren't polishing their story. It happens everywhere. So why is LinkedIn the only one that puts you off?

LinkedIn is where recruiters are looking, where roles get shared before they're advertised, where you can learn from people ahead of you, and where your next opportunity might come from a conversation you never expected.

Use LinkedIn for its benefits and forget what everyone else is doing. Don't miss opportunities because of how other people make you feel by @theannealyst

Interview question: How do you ensure your work can be reproduced?

This is a common question interviews, and it's also something I practise every day.

Good analysis isn't just about getting the right answer.

It's about making sure someone else can follow your steps, rerun your work and get the same result. Clear documentation, organised folders, clear labelling and an updated task log mean my team can pick up my work at any time, and I can enjoy my leave without any calls.

Save this for your next interview. How do you make sure your work can be reproduced? by @theannealyst

It is here.

404: Women Not Found by @vanessavallelyobe arrived today, and I could not wait to open it.

This book is a practical playbook for women building careers in tech. Drawing on Vanessa's 25 years in technology and financial services, nearly two decades of supporting women through WeAreTheCity and WeAreTechWomen, and the findings of the Lovelace Report, it brings together insight from 41 incredible women in the industry.

It is not about fixing women. It is about recognising the talent that already exists in tech and giving women the tools, strategies and confidence to progress, lead and shape the future of the industry. Written to be used, not just read.

Whether you are just starting out, returning to tech, or aiming for leadership, this book is for you. And if you are a manager or an ally, it is one for you too.
Out now on Amazon. Grab your copy of @404womennotfound and let me know when you start reading. by @theannealyst

5 free places to learn data analytics, from SQL and Python to Power BI and statistics.

You don't need to spend money to start learning data analytics. When I started, I wish I'd known how many good resources were available for free.

1. SQLBolt for learning SQL step by step
2. Kaggle Learn for Python, SQL and data visualisation
3. Microsoft Learn for Power BI
4. W3Schools for SQL and Python basics
5. Khan Academy for statistics

All of them are beginner friendly and you can learn at your own pace. Pick one, practise a little each day and build from there.

Save this for later and share it with someone who's been meaning to start. Which one will you try?. by @theannealyst
