Revitalizing recipes for mamas, preggos, and caretakers. I don’t have kids, but I’m here to support, uplift, and feed women who do.

Screen time is fine but have you tried being an auntie backup dancer? I feel like as a babysitter, we often lean on screens to pass the time, but then I hand back a kid that’s tired or over stimulated (plus, then mom doesn’t get to lean on screen time if she’s busy later). So why not have a dance party instead? If you’re a millennial and have a niece, nephew, or nibbling in elementary school, you might even have the same taste in music! Xo, Auntie Ari. (Ps. I got permission from my niece Shoshi to post this video! Pps. Shoutout to @rebeccakennedynyc for making this cardio possible.) #parenting #auntie #dancing #mentalload #motherhood #mom #screentime #auntlife #auntandniece #auntlove #auntlifeisthebestlife #danceparty by @theauntieari

I’ve been experimenting with @cookanyday. I’ll do more of a review on my personal IG account @arielkanter but if you have a small kitchen or want to prep a dorm room for your kids, these are really useful. If only we had this in college! This picture is of the three-cup chicken recipe (3-4) servings. I’d just cut back on the sesame oil because two tablespoons is too much. Have you tried Anyday yet? Would love to hear your thoughts! by @theauntieari

For all the mamas who told me they’re craving cold, crunchy, pickled things, try this punchy slaw (no mayo in sight!). It’s best if you let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Serve it as a side salad, on top of a burger, over a rice bowl. You can’t go wrong. by @theauntieari

There is no greater gift than that of fresh bread. Treat the caretakers in your life to @kingarthurbaking’s English muffin bread. It’s very quick to make and you don’t need any machinery (just a dough whisk!). It toasts up so well and is best slathered with PB, which would be nice for mamas who aren’t feeling so hot. Or make a few loaves, slice them up, and pack them in the freezer for when the family needs something homemade. by @theauntieari

In my highlights now you can find an Auntie Ari tips section! These are just little suggestions and easy fixes to help preggos, new mamas, and caretakers eat a little better every day. One thing that I think is super valuable is bringing over some already prepped veg that new mamas can eat one-handed! No one really has the spare time to wash and cut produce (except aunties) and buying preprepped produce is so expensive. So make life a little easier and bring over some veg like this! Want to make it extra special? Let parents keep the container if it’s nice, like this @mepalnl one. by @theauntieari

This is how cool aunties eat cake. Can’t wait to teach my niece and nephew my ways. by @theauntieari

As requested, a protein-packed bar that’s snackable and packable. Perfect for mamas who are tired and need some quick energy. They aren’t too sweet and are plenty nutty. Dried cherries give them a sour hit. Bake them in a mini Bundt tin for deep browning on all sides! Full recipe: Yield: Makes eight protein bars

Ingredients
3/4 cup creamy unsweetened peanut butter
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 packet (1 oz, 30 grams) of chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1tbsp olive oil
2 egg whites
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups rice krispies cereal
1/3 cup wheat germ
1/3 cup mixed seeds (sunflower, hemp, flax)
1/3 cup crushed roasted, lightly salted peanuts
3/4 cup chopped dried cherries or cranberries
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips, chopped into shards

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350F and spray the mini bundt tin.
2. In a large bowl, add peanut butter, sweetened condensed milk, the protein powder, vanilla extract, olive oil, and egg whites. Whisk. The texture here is going to depend a lot on your peanut butter. If it's very thick and pasty and you can't even get your whisk through it, drizzle in a splash of warm water. Otherwise, continue on!
3. Add rolled oats, rice krispies, wheat germ, mixed seeds, peanuts, chopped dried fruit, and chocolate shards.
4. Mix thoroughly for two to three minutes with a wooden spoon. Really mix it up!
5. Press about 3/4 cup of mixture into each mini bundt section. Compress it further with a cup measure.
6. Optional: Sprinkle tops with a little demerara sugar and press the sugar into the bars.
7. Bake on top rack for 20 minutes until browned around the edges, then bake for an extra five minutes on the bottom rack.
8. Take out of the oven and cool in the pan. Then pop out and enjoy! by @theauntieari

I’m #recipe testing today! This is batch one of my protein bars. I think we’re at a 5/10 right now. They need more goo and heft. And I’m considering swapping out the tahini for PB. Also, the request was to be tree nut-free! So that’s why we’re going light on nuts and focusing more on seeds. by @theauntieari

Treat mamas to hot chicken soup with tons of tiny noodles in 15 minutes flat. Pick up a rotisserie chicken, pull the meat, and put all the bones into a large stock pot. Add water to cover and if you can, add: herbs, an onion, garlic, and that’s it. Simmer for a few hours, then strain. Put the stock into containers with the pulled chicken and freeze them. Then all mamas need to do is plop the stock ice into a pot, let it come to a simmer, and add her fave noodles. by @theauntieari
