Monday mood: this time with feeling. ✨ by @thebananajane

So thrilled - and honestly a little blown away - to see this story featured on the homepage of the Los Angeles Times today!

Read the full story at the link in my bio. ✨

What began as an idea I’ve been simmering on and incubating for nearly two decades is suddenly out in the world.

I’m so grateful to Deb Vankin, the incredible LA Times features writer who covered this event, for seeing the vision behind this work, for coming to experience it herself, and for writing such a thoughtful and attentive piece about what we’re building.

Thank you to Primal Moves for giving this experiment a home, and especially to every one of the incredible women who showed up, danced, trusted the process, and helped bring the first EMDR Dance Party to life. This truly is a co-creation — and the beginning of a mental health + movement experience I’ve dreamed about creating for a very long time.

It always amazes me how ideas grow through conversation — how one conversation sparks another, and eventually something that once existed only in your imagination becomes real.

So much gratitude to the friends, collaborators and allies who helped me dream this one into being…

🪩 THERAPY ROOM SAFETY MEETS THE HEALING POWER OF THE RAVE.

EMDR Dance — my new party at the intersection of entertainment and mental health.

And for now, it’s for all those who identify as women.

Born from 20 years as a psychotherapist exploring what really works in healing, it’s where my worlds meet: my passion for EMDR as a power tool for transformation, and my love of dance and ceremony.

SO WHAT IS EMDR DANCE?

🔥 A guided dance journey through courage, passion, compassion and celebration.

🧠 EMDR-inspired bilateral beats, prompts and movements to help you get unstuck.

❤️ An invitation to connect with your heart, your senses and your aliveness.

⚡ A space to move through feelings, not dance around them.

💃 Suggested moves to warm you up, with the freedom to move your own way.

🌈 A dance floor where ALL parts of you are welcome.

🖤 No performance. No pressure to interact. Dance wildly, stand still, come as you are.

NOT ecstatic dance. NOT group therapy. NOT your average Friday night.

Come be an early explorer. A co-creator. A founding part of a new movement.

LET’S REWRITE THE FUTURE TOGETHER - THIS TIME WITH FEELING 🪩💜

FRIDAY THE 13TH • NOVEMBER 13
📍 Church in Ocean Park, Santa Monica

Motherhood isn’t just a life change - it’s an entire evolutionary upgrade. 🤍

We talk so much about the joy of becoming a parent, but we rarely talk about the ego deaths, the identity shifts, and the sheer mental weight that comes with it. You are literally stepping into a new version of yourself while exhausted.

If you’re feeling burnt out or overwhelmed right now, take a deep breath. You aren’t failing. You’re evolving. ✨

How many years have you spent knowing something in your life isn't working... but staying anyway because change feels even scarier?

Whether it's a relationship, a career, or just the life you've built, fear can keep us stuck long after we've outgrown where we are.

In this week's podcast, therapist and former Hollywood producer Jane Garnett and I talk about why we're so afraid to change, how childhood conditioning shapes the choices we make, why so many people end up performing their lives instead of actually living them, and what it really takes to create a life that feels authentic.

If you've been feeling like something needs to change but can't quite figure out why you can't make the leap, I think this conversation will really resonate.

“This Time with Feeling” was a leap of faith in writing and living that has landed me in a new world connection and support.

This post contains reviews from some of the many powerhouse females who keep showing up on the other side of that leap

❤️THANK YOU WOMEN❤️

I’m so glad i hung in there and wrote my way through my own blindness - all thumbs sticking at this strange process of rewriting ones own life in the name of what’s true- squirreling my way through the tunnels of performance, emerging into presence- blinking slightly! able to see more now of myself, of you, of US☀️ 🪩

In today’s episode of the Heal Your Heartbreak Podcast, I sat down with EMDR therapy expert Jane Garnett and finally got the answers to WHY talk therapy sometimes isn’t enough, and HOW EMDR can help you break free from those stuck patterns after heartbreak. We dove deep into what it actually looks like to heal on the body and the brain level, not just the story you tell yourself about your breakup. If you’ve ever felt like you “know” what your issues are but still can’t move on, this one is for you. Comment PODCAST if you want the episode sent straight to your inbox! by @thebananajane
