The 2026 Georgia Governor’s race goes to former Atlanta Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms after the Associated Press calls the race in her favor two hours after poll closings on the East coast.

Bottoms will become Georgia’s first Black and Female Governor in its history. Her campaign includes lowering healthcare costs, increasing funding for education, strengthening small businesses, and more.

The major counties that put Bottoms at the tops of their tickets were Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, Liberty, Chatham, Douglas, Richmond, and Henry.

Over the weekend, The High Museum of Art Atlanta shut down pieces of Peachtree Street to celebrate its centennial anniversary with the local arts community and the city of Atlanta. Hundreds filled the streets to dance, indulge, and engage with organized activations from The Atlanta Hawks, The Alliance Theatre, The Trap Music Museum, and more.

“We’ve been so blessed with people throughout that entire history that have been supportive of this place [The High] with, not just financial resources, but with their time and expertise,” said Rand Suffolk, Director of The High Museum of Art.

“Everyone has been trying to ensure that The High is positioned to ducktail our strengths with the community’s needs,” he added.

The High Museum was founded in 1926 when Harriet “Hattie” High donated her Peachtree Street home to establish a true home for the arts, “bowered in lovely green trees and shrubs”, in a bustling southern metropolis.

On October 16, 1926, The Atlanta Constitution wrote it in as such and where the permanent collections will live and be a gem for the children of Atlanta to cherish.

Going, Going, Here to stay.

The third rendition of the Atlanta Art Fair concluded its four-day weekend of visual conversation, activities, and of course, art. Welcoming more than 13.5k visitors onto the 27 acre Pullman Yards campus, arts and culture enthusiasts from across the globe gathered to meet 85 national and international galleries.

As the saying goes, numbers don’t lie, and in this case, neither does the vibe. The energy toward the Atlanta Art Fair has heavily influenced other institutional partnerships, openings, events, and programming to sprout, creating a colorful window for the creative community to breathe.

“I love it for the city of Atlanta, and I think it’s a great opportunity for local galleries and national galleries to tap into the Southeast market,” said Rodney Kazemi, Owner of Luca Fine Art. (@luca.fine.art )

“You see a lot of local artists too, so it’s great for them to get exposure as well,” he added.

Atlanta is a special place where creative genres mix, mingle and embrace themselves. In this case, local muralist, Mona (@emily__cadena ), recently completed a towering piece featuring a bust of ATL’s own rap artist, Young Thug, above a landscape of wild equinae.

The mural, titled “Thugger THUGGER x the Highwaymen” sits right at the intersection of Wylie Street and Tye Street in Cabbagetown.

“I’ve always wanted to paint Young Thug in Atlanta (my city btw… I’m a ClayCo baby) so now it finally exists on Wylie & Tye St. right next to Estoria,” said Mona via Instagram.

The piece was an entry into this year’s Forward Warrior, an annual mural fest in Cabbagetown that’s been running since 2012.

On Sunday, The African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta (ADAMA | @adama_atl ) capped off a full weekend of discovery and dialogue with Brooklyn-based French Senegalese visual artist, Delphine Diallo.

With the opening of “The Mythic Quest”, Diallo’s work speaks directly to the empowerment of womanhood and its role beyond reality. Her specialty, photography, fruitions her beliefs, and has found new ways of expression with the introduction of artificial intelligence. Coupling the use of a new technology, Diallo has stretched the canvas to meet her own imagination.

“A.I., for me, is an expansion of my consciousness inside of the tool, but I had to, first, create an entire body of work, twenty years of framework and understanding that nobody is going to take away my vision or my narrative from my lived experience,” said Diallo.

Despite the social, environmental, and ethical concerns in the wake of A.I., Diallo insists on playing the game from the inside out to ensure Black representation is not only curated by us, but is accurate and true for us.

When speaking about the comfortability of use with the man-made intelligence in her work, Diallo references the obvious; with any skill comes learning, discovery, and then practice. She applies that same, trusted process to something very new.

“I apply the same discipline and determination in my own life,” she mentioned. “For years, I was able to build relationships with women in New York and already created a framework, in real life, by inviting people into my space, collaborating, fostering conversations of openness about their talent, and reflecting their light. When entering A.I., I understood to repeat that same energy inside,” she added.

Diallo’s work is a mixed media presentation with her photography and an A.I. motion picture. It will be on display at @adama_atl until November 14th.
