I’ve also decided I’m gonna sew my own wardrobe this spring, so I think it’s safe to say that an early midlife crisis is happening.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit unsure what to do on here. I’ve been on bookstagram for over three years, it has changed, I have changed, and it just hasn’t been bringing me the same joy the last few months. So, I’ve decided to focus a bit more on getting back to writing. What more will motivate me to write a book than to post about it to a bunch of strangers?

It’ll still be book recs and me loving indie authors, fear not! It’ll just be mixed in with a writing diary of sorts. Ok currently on week three and am still figuring exactly everything out lol.

Do you write or have dreamt of writing? Please share and let’s focus our bests ways to procrastinate (mine: baking and trying to sew cloths, let’s see how that turns out). by @thebookishswede

Confession time: for years, I’ve been hiding what I read, or downplayed it massively.

I almost never talk about books or authors with people in real life. When someone ask about my interest, I usually go “yeah, I read a bit, nothing serious” - despite me reading 100+ books per year. But I’ve decided that stops now!

For the longest time I thought people had themselves figured out by their 30s. Yet here I am, turning 33 next week, and I feel like I’m still discovering who I am. Im rethinking everything from how I want to dress to my career, and I am just pondering what I want from life.

And I am feeling done with making myself smaller and hiding the things that I love.

So last week I did something small but terrifying: I openly talked about the one FMC x TEN MMC romance series I’m reading with my sister-in-law and her husband, and I never once downplayed it or allowed myself to feel embarrassed about it. They did ask what I was reading atm and I answered truthfully! And you know what happened?

They asked for reading updates and started checking the series out themselves, and I don’t feel judged or any of the things that I thought was gonna happen.

So this is me deciding to stop caring what people think — whether that’s how I dress or the chaotic why-choose romances I read.

💌 Have you ever felt embarrassed about your reading, or hidden a favourite genre from irl people? by @thebookishswede

A bit later then planned, but here’s some spicy book recs for the weekend! We had a bank holiday here yesterday, and it’s packing galore for the move that’s happening soon! The big discussion earlier today was the all important bookshelves haha, even stared painting different versions up when I was painting with my daughter.

Hope you have a lovely weekend with spring vibes and (maybe spicy?) books 🫶

When I was a child, I loved the sims. I especially loved all the creative ways you could off people (☠️by flies was a favourite) and then make them all fall in love with new people, getting pregnant by others and just create this very messy and complex family tree lol. Plus points if one got kidnapped by aliens!

Anyway, I’m feeling almost as giddy when I try to figure out what my characters fear and how I can make it all come true. Is this how George RR Martin feels? Because that would explain A LOT. Pls tell me I’m not the only one 🙏 by @thebookishswede

💌 what’s a book you can’t stop thinking about?

Four books I’ve been obsessed with this week! All by new to be authors, except one 😌

I’m in a mood and the mood is omegaverse and why choose! Give me all the animalistic urges, fighting for dominance, betrayal, suffering and hopefully grovelling. Both tormented omega and caged SHOOK ME TO MY CORE, I’m still recovering from those two books. It’s the type of book that makes you go “gaaah I love reading” at the same time as you’re crying and want to hit someone (preferably the stupid mmc). by @thebookishswede

AN AMATEURS WRITING DIARY PART 2

My feelings about writing atm is this emoji 🙂🙂🙂

There’s just tons of other things to do. Our dishwasher broke, so the kitchen is always a mess, there’s always laundry and then the in-laws are coming and I need to try and sanitise our flat etc. ANYWAY, I made epic buns and discovered that my plot didn’t make sense so yesterday I tried to rewrite that and it’s very much a work in progress.

If someone would kidnap me for a weekend in a hotel and uninterrupted time, that would be appreciated.

🙂🙂🙂🙂

Hi! I’m Sara, mum of two who had decided that this year is the year that I’m writing a book, a lifelong dream of mine. So far it’s chaos, plotholes and characters I can’t figure out. If you’re also a writer trying to get back to writing, send me a message and maybe we can support each other! by @thebookishswede

💌 do you have a book that completely wrecked you?

Some of my fav books and series! I think shadowvein was the best series I read last year, and her feral beasts the best one this year (doe far!). by @thebookishswede

💌 what have you been reading recently?

Life recently has been spring feels, being emerged in Jane Washington’s universe, starting readin Daggermouth but getting distracted by the Pitt and me trying to scribble something down every day with a very variated success rate by @thebookishswede

So many questions, so few answers. Have I googled “epic fantasy powers” and the giving myself anxiety because I got stressed about making a decision? Yes. One week later and I still have yet to make a decision. So, what your fav magic powers out there? 👀👀 by @thebookishswede

Both @literary_escapebyv and @mybelovedbooks_andme have been hyping up Daggermouth and now I’ve started reading it! I’m only 6% in, but I’m liking it so far 😌

What are you currently reading? by @thebookishswede

Words read this week: maybe ten?

But last week, I finished Jane Washington why choose romance and IT WAS SO GOOD. Me usually: hate academy settings. Me atm: burning through them. Last week, we also went to a beer church and just enjoyed life. This week it’s been spring vibes and baking for a close friend’s wedding that is today! I am pondering picking up Daggermouth because I see it everywhere, have you read it and what did you think? Or have you another book rec for me? by @thebookishswede

I do not have the time for mediocre men in romance books these days. Reading with a chaos toddler and a baby -> I want those crazy obsessive men from the start pls! Give me a love that DEVOURS! One of my fav morally grey mmc is from Marie Mistrys work and the crazy redcap fae Lore. That man is just unhinged, stabby perfection 😌 by @thebookishswede
