The Bowl will be closed today in Celebration of the Life of our Brother, Friend, and Chef...Dalton Parr. This was scheduled to be our holiday party, but Dalton made everyday a holiday for us with his kindness, laughter, and love. We Love you Dalton, always and forever!!! by @thebowlob

The Bowl lost an amazing influence in our lives this past Saturday. Dalton Parr was the head chef at the joint and a huge part of the bowl family, as well as our beloved trivia host! He was truly one of the most genuine, caring, funny, hardworking, and passionate people we've ever had the honor of calling our brother. Losing Dalton has devasted us all, as the warmth of his amazing personality touched us all. His camaraderie and love for his friends and family is everlasting, as is our love for Dalton. He was only 23 and gone way too soon... may his light shine on for eternity and may we all take his way of kindness and love with us forever to share with others, as he always would.

Rest in Power our brother! Your love will live on forever and we are all incredibly thankful and blessed for each and every moment we were fortunate enough to spend with you. Much Love & Respect Always and For Ever and Ever...Your OB/SD Family, The Bowl. by @thebowlob

Thank you to everyone who came out for the restaurant walk on Tuesday! Hope yall enjoyed the karaage & vegan broth. 🫰🏼

Happy hour starts at 3pm this afternoon, see you then ! #sdfooddiaries #ramen #smashburgers🍔 by @thebowlob

There’s a first time for everything . Usually I take recommendations or go to spots that everybody talks about . Then there is this spot who everybody should be talking about @thebowlob

I found this place because their advertising worked . No ai just a picture of the Gajin Bacon Cheeseburger . The picture matched the hype! This is a limited special so I recommend pulling up before they swap it out for another special . I enjoyed the loaded fries and the Chicken Gyoza too 🔥🔥 (get a side of hot chili)

I will have to go back for a heat check and see how consistent they are cause this was one of the ones that caught me off guard with how fire it was. Very strong potent sauces that are unique in flavor.

This isn’t a paid ad or an invite . I came on a whim. I’m shocked the crowd wasn’t bigger but I did meet the owner Jeff who was very pleasant and the staff offered great hospitality. Go grab you some grub 🤤

This is worth the drive and if you’re in OB I kinda bet you already know and go here . Pull Up & Tell Em Tyler Sent You!

WHO SAYS RAMEN HAS TO BE HOT? ☀️🍜

Meet our Hiyashi Chūka — Japanese Cold Ramen.

Cold ramen noodles loaded up with avocado, cucumber, tomato, krab, fresh greens, negi and sesame, finished with our house sauce.
And because more is more… add shrimp. 🍤

Cold. Fresh. Bright. A little sweet and a little tangy. And exactly what ramen should taste like when it's 75° and sunny in Ocean Beach.

Pair it with a cold draft or an iced oolong tea and you've pretty much figured out summer. 🍺

WHAT ARE YOU IN THE MOOD FOR? 🍜🍣🥒

Ramen? Sushi? Crudo? Something crispy? Something fresh? Maybe a little bit of everything?

That’s kind of the point at The Bowl.

We make our ramen from scratch, cut fresh fish, roll sushi to order, pickle our veggies, marinate our ajitama eggs and make a whole lot more than what fits in the name.

Come hungry. Bring some friends. Order too much. Share everything. 😎

And maybe grab a cold beer or a sake bomb while you’re at it. 🍺💣

You don't have to choose just one. 🍜🍔🍣

One person comes for ramen. Another can't stop thinking about our smash burgers. Someone else orders sushi. Then everyone shares gyoza, spicy cucumbers, and loaded fries.

That's exactly what The Bowl is all about.

From scratch-made ramen and Japanese curry... to crispy karaage, handcrafted sushi, artisan smash burgers, rice bowls, and 24 craft taps...

There's something for everyone at the table.

Who's coming over for the first round? by @thebowlob

I saw The Bowl Ramen & Izakaya recently released four new summer specials and one that immediately caught my attention was the Elote Smash Burger. While The Bowl is known for its ramen, they’ve also been absolutely killin’ it with their creative smash burgers. This Elote Smash Burger comes with fresh jalapeños smashed and grilled into the patty (I ordered it as a double patty), and topped with sweet corn, miso mayo, scallions, nori, cream cheese and togarashi. It’s delicious!!!

The (double) smash patty had that crispy edge while still being juicy, and smashing the fresh jalapeños right into the beef gave every bite a nice kick without being too spicy. The sweet corn adds a little sweetness that balanced out the jalapeños, while the miso mayo and cream cheese made it creamy. The scallions, nori, and togarashi brought in just enough flavor to make it different without overcomplicating it. Every bite had a little bit of everything, and all the flavors came together way better than I expected. Definitely one I’d order again.

*TSN: Trying something new.
My goal is to try at least two things new to me each week around town that I’ve never tried before. by @thebowlob
