An hour rammed full of of rickety cellar doors, spots that may require a tetanus jab and a number of overlooked peggable obscurities.

Available now… Visual Notes by Nick Ferreira.

Nick Ferreira (@t0tallyrelaxed) is a graphic designer and photographer who lives near Lake Michigan. From @challengerbmxmag to Holeshot to the countless other cool print projects he’s produced over the last few decades, his output has a certain unique flavour that somehow feels high quality yet also relatable and inspirational at the same time, if that makes any sense?

Anyway, for a good while now he’s been casually snapping photos of signage and visual curios on his phone—capturing the unpretentious world of what you could maybe call ‘everyday graphic design’ in an equally unpretentious, straight-up manner.

This little A6 book features a small portion of these photos—showing a rarely documented side of the Midwest, from construction firm t-shirts to the potent lettering of a local computer repair shop.

Book also features a short interview with Nick about photos and signs and stuff like that.

You might want to hit mute before that Futureheads track comes on though...

Available now - a big ol’ paperback book celebrating five years of Japan’s @motobunka. Part magazine, part retrospective, this is an 138-page look at the riding scene in Japan and beyond, crammed with articles on everything from Van Homan to flatland to skateparks inside burger shops to a chat with Dig’s Will Smyth.

And don’t fret if you can’t speak the lingo... it’s in both Japanese AND English. by @thecentrallibrary

Still Here is a real high-class black and white zine from @mattylambert, featuring photos snapped during the last few years riding street in and around the Merseyside region.

If you got Matty’s zine Mono from a few years back you’ll know the score here—with a mix of carefully-considered riding photos and sharp-eyed documentary snaps working together to create a clear vision of street riding in the north of England (without a hot air balloon in sight). by @thecentrallibrary

The latest issue of Tyler Rembold’s long-running Cheers zine has arrived. We might have missed a few of these over the last year or so, but Tyler is very prolific so that’s fairly easily done. Anyway, the ninth issue is great—a classic zine, made the modern way, inside you’ll find a really nice mix of riding stuff along with recipes, film reviews and music stuff.

Low Frequency is the new DVD from the original Grindmaster Flash himself... Addy Snowdon. If you saw Addy’s video Cast Iron Shore from a few years back you’ll have an idea of how good this is—and thanks to its highly-detailed style (mixing Ceefax-esque visuals with plenty of post-industrial VHS-C crust and crisp HD 4:3 riding clips), it’s one of those videos that requires repeat viewings.

Clocking in at just over half an hour, there’s riding from the likes of Roper, Matty Lambert, Lee Williams, Gaz Hunt, Clarky, Addy himself and a well-earned last part from Sean Minney, all set to a heavy, mostly-instrumental, beat-based soundtrack. Highly recommended.
