Breaking News Exclusive and Exclusive photos from The Chelsea Citizen: All photos and content are the copyright of Rob McGibbon and The Chelsea Citizen. After a week long investigation, we name the man who fell to his death from a King’s Road flat on Easter Monday… He was KARL CRONIN. He was a notorious fraudster who swindled property landlords in Chelsea out of millions. Cronin was also a WANTED man. An international arrest warrant was put out for him in 2008 - after an appeal on Crimewatch. He had evaded British police ever since. But why did he fall? And why have police not released his name yet - a full week after his death? And WHY had he returned to the UK after being in prison in America but had NOT been arrested? There is much speculation about his death and many unanswered questions. The full story is now on The Chelsea Citizen website. An in-depth feature on ‘The Life and Crimes of The Man who Fell to Earth’ will follow. The Chelsea Citizen covered yesterday’s ’Blue Co Out’ demonstration on the Fulham Road by the Britannia Gate to Stamford Bridge. The movement is certainly growing. There were 400++ in full voice against the CFC owners. They were joined by a contingent of Strasbourg fans. Blue flares and blue language, yet a reasonably well tempered demo’ considering the clear anger. The demo’ even had a poetic finale … news from a nearby bar that Brighton had banged in a 94th minute equaliser against Spurs. 😂. Interviews with the two organisers will be posted tomorrow. #bluecoout by @thechelseacitizen

Brace. Brace. RBKC has announced major council tax increase. It could hit 70%. The council plans to consult with residents as early as next week. A report by John Cookson is now on TCC website. Alison - we have already asked the council's press office to outline the "reference criteria" for the forthcoming consultation. Is a major increase a done deal? If it IS, then what are they hoping to achieve through consultation? We have also requested an interview with Cllr Emma Will. We have also asked for a breakdown of the number of households across the whole borough that pay 100% council and for the number of those who are on the Council Tax Reduction Scheme (Today’s RBKC press release states: 'Households eligible for our Council Tax Reduction Scheme will continue to receive the same percentage discount on their bills, meaning the amount of financial support they receive will rise if council tax increases'). What does mean and cost exactly? The Chelsea Citizen will (obviously!) be covering this story in absolute detail - not least next week's leadership meeting. Get the free newsletter today. Hurry cos it will go up by 90% tomorrow. 🙄 by @thechelseacitizen

Inside THAT Notting Hill house with the blue door. The house owned by hapless bookseller William Thacker - that’ll be Chelsea boy Hugh Grant - in that wondrous film Notting Hill is up for sale. Sothebys Intetnational has the three bed pad in Westbourne Park Road on the market for £7.5m (unlimited tourist visits included). It has two bathrooms, a roof terrace and a nice enough patio garden. Once a chapel and then an artist’s studio, it’s only 2,752 sq ft, but has a 48ft main reception room with a stunning vaulted ceiling. Full story is now live on The Chelsea Citizen website. Call Josh Ratcliffe if you fancy buying the house. Photos: Sothebys International #Nottinghillfilm #TheChelseacitizen by @thechelseacitizen
Heads Up! Here are two fringe plays opening in Chelsea this week. Fernando Arrabal’s Picnic on a Battlefield - produced by Victoria Jacobsen - is on at the Chelsea Theatre from 4th-7th Nov, with a champagne gala night on 5th. Before then, from 3-7th Nov at Drayton Arms Theatre, is Where Would You Like To Start - written and produced by Alexandra Shaw. Stop scrolling. Get strolling. See some culture in Chelsea. 👊💙 by @thechelseacitizen
Campaign Alert! ‘Save the King’s Road K6 Phonebox’ Aiming to get your week off to a positive start. Good things DO happen in communities when a fine citizen is prepared to step up. We have heard of one such local who is digging in to save the old red phonebox on the King’s Road. It is opposite Vivienne Westwood’s old shop, outside H2O dry cleaners…. ….OK, OKaaaay, Bucci - it is also a short drunken stagger from some Italian restaurant called Frantoio (Tel: 020 7352 4146. Say The Chelsea Citizen sent you and claim your free breadstick. Prego). British Telecom has targeted the phonebox for removal. It will ‘Exit Here’ as soon as the next few WEEKS - unless the funeral is stopped. The Citizen is throwing its full weight behind the campaigner leading the fight. We are in touch with the powers at BT. She has also already activated support from a local councillor and (🤞) RBKC council. Stand by for an interview with the stand up citizen and a full report on our website. Sign up for our free newsletter for the latest news and events from Chelsea and across the Royal Borough. (We might well be doing a comprehensive Christmas party guide). #localjournalismMATTERS #redphonebox #savethekingsroadK6 by @thechelseacitizen
Twas the morning after Halloween (not that we “celebrate“ such a thing at TCC HQ) and we stop by to salute the humour of the owners of the house in Lamont Road who had a double decker bus crash through their railings and alight against the side wall. Applause. 👏 🎃👻 Btw - The Citizen has since the accident approached TFL to ask: the reasons for the crash, whether they have investigated, if the driver of the bus has been disciplined, or if she is still driving buses. But - quelle surprise, fair readers - they are “unable” to provide answers. 💩 We asked the same of the Met Police. AGAIN, no help. 💩 Are you enjoying living in a country that thinks nothing of dismissing legitimate press enquiries? What a fetid horror show. 💩+++🥱 But let’s look on the upside and smile at the humour of our stoic Chelsea citizen. We are indeed hoping for a full interview. Standing ovation to Chelsea FC for the way they (man) mark Remembrance for The Fallen. It has become a beautiful pre-match ceremony, full of graceful respect and dignity. It was perfect again yesterday (except for the ignorant youth in front of me who remained seated throughout- oblivious and on his phone. I hadn’t even noticed because I was transfixed by proceedings and suffering from a sudden case of GES - glassy eyes syndrome (!) - but my son was incensed. Proud that HE cares). A shout out to the Club and everyone involved for how they do so much to make this so poignant. Back of the net. Buy a Poppy. Remember the heroes who step up to fight for us. Then, since - and NOW. 🙏💙👏 A thought: Make the whole of November Remembrance MONTH. Something to take pride in. #remembrance #remembrancesunday🌹 by @thechelseacitizen
Right! Take us to tye battlefield of The Bridge. Looking forward to a BIG win today. 💙👊 Get yer poppies in early. #poppyappeal by @thechelseacitizen
Erm. Really quite amazing and a genuine buzz (Oh, get a grip. Ed) to meet this local footballer last night. We needed to talk about today’s game. Most of all, it was great to tell him about a certain local newspaper. Yes… Cole Palmer - the Wizard of the Mid - has now heard those immortal words: “The Chelsea Citizen”!! True Story. 😂 The Citizen’s marketing & PR departments never close. Please gissa shout out and a Follow, Cole. 🙌🧊 📸 Rob McGibbon! #colepalmer #thechelseacitizen by @thechelseacitizen
