Do you know what to actually do first when a nosebleed happens?
We've all been taught to tilt the head back, but this is wrong and can actually make bleeding riskier. Save this reel, because emergencies never come with a warning.
👉 Lean forward, pinch the nose, hold for 10-15 minutes — that's really all it takes.

The importance of writing patterns and strokes cannot be denied in early years, but that can be confusing for parents, as it wasn't part of rote learning. I have been personally challenged but once parents calm down and tries to understand the importance of these pre writing strokes, they feel happy and secure. Did this thought ever crossed your mind? by @thechildhoodarchitect

Would you say this to your partner/ guests or any elder?
Role reversal hits differently, doesn’t it?
We often force our children to finish their plates in the name of "love" or "avoiding food wastage." But if someone forced us to eat beyond our fullness, we’d find it completely unfair!
When we force kids to take "just 3 more bites," we unintentionally teach them to ignore their body’s natural hunger and fullness cues.
Worried about wastage? You don't have to choose between forcing your child and wasting food!

Sometimes, kindness is as simple as making room for one more child. ❤️

We can't force friendships, but we can teach inclusion and empathy.

Let's raise children who notice when someone is left out and make them feel they belong.

“School mein toh bilkul theek rehta hai, ghar aate hi pata nahi kya ho jaata hai!”

Sounds familiar?

A child's behaviour can change across environments. Tiredness, transitions, accumulated demands, and the comfort of familiar relationships can all play a role.

But understanding the behaviour doesn't mean excusing everything.

Sometimes, our children need connection. Sometimes, they need rest. And sometimes, they need us to hold a boundary calmly and consistently.

Before asking, “Why is my child behaving like this?” try asking, “What might be making this moment difficult for my child?”

Because understanding is where more effective parenting begins.

Gabor Mate is a very wise whose advice on his work on childhood trauma, addiction, stress, and the mind-body connection is something worth following. I always say early years are the most crucial years and childhood trauma is real and it does shape our future relationships, especially, some of the most close ones. by @thechildhoodarchitect

Most often we consider our child's behaviour as disobedience, but its not. There is something else that requires attention rather than being asked to shut down or worse scold or hit them. Here are five top behaviours and what they actually imply. by @thechildhoodarchitect

Fear might stop a child today, but understanding guides them for life.

Should schools use fear to change behaviour, or help children understand why?

Goodness is not just something we celebrate. It is something we nurture.

In the little moments of childhood — when we teach kindness, model empathy, encourage courage, and guide children with compassion — we plant the seeds of a better tomorrow.

This Dussehra, may we raise children who don't just recognise goodness, but choose to live it.

May goodness grow with every child.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Dussehra by @thechildhoodarchitect

“How many times do I have to tell you?”

If you find yourself saying this to your five-year-old every single day, you're not alone.

But here's something worth understanding: a child can understand what you're saying and still struggle to act on it.

At this age, language is developing alongside attention control, emotional regulation, and the ability to shift from something enjoyable to something they don't want to do.

And sometimes, an interaction pattern develops without us even realising it.

We repeat ----> They ignore.
We raise our voice ---> They finally respond.

Over time, they may begin waiting for the raised voice before taking us seriously.

The answer isn't to give in to every demand nor is it to turn every refusal into a battle for control.

It's to offer clear expectations, predictable boundaries, appropriate choices, and calm follow-through.

Because our goal isn't simply to raise children who obey us.

It's to help them gradually develop the ability to regulate themselves, accept limits, and cooperate—even when things don't go their way.

The next time your child doesn't respond, pause and ask yourself: Are they struggling to shift, resisting the demand, or have we fallen into a pattern that needs changing?

Save this post for the moments when you feel you've repeated yourself one too many times.

And tell me in the comments: Does your child listen to the first instruction, or only after you've raised your voice? by @thechildhoodarchitect
