Seasons change and so do menus…and so do teams come to think of it. And the team has rubbed their collective heads together to bring y’all new dishes, new drinks, old favorites, and semi-old faces. This is the Circle of 5ths but with a twist. Autumnal. Adventurous. Whimsical. We could throw the veritable book of adjectives at you to describe this menu, but why not come in and give one or two of them a whirl* in person? And bring your own book…or friend…or date. You name it. This thing of ours came from a plethora of different desires. One to increase the sustainability of both the bar and kitchen, trading table scraps to reduce as much waste as possible. Another to reuse a mistaken order of a whole case of pumpkin puree and to turn it into something seasonably appropriate but perhaps a bit more off the beaten path. Another, and maybe our loftiest one yet, is to serve you the things that we like to eat and drink- the stuff that comforts us and excites us and pushes us to do what we do. So don’t ever hesitate to ask us to make something up on the spot, regardless of whether it’s a cocktail, mocktail, or something in between. Don’t worry about asking for sauce on the side or for extra pickles (always extra pickles). The point of this place is to try to provide you with something fun, something comforting, and most of all, something delicious. So keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground for updates on events, specials, and more collaboration in the coming weeks. We’ll see you when we see you! *note: please leave all whirling of drinks and/or dishes to bartenders and staff. Thank you. πŸ“· @kal_lou_wei Photo styling @strega_party by @thecircleof5ths_

When Chef Adam posed the question of fresh menu items with the new front of house manager @foxy.trott; she stated that she would simply like a different appetizer for guests to choose from. "What kind of appetizer?" You may wonder. Well, Adam wondered that too, but Athena was simply no help aside from wanting something different. Given no direction and definitely no helpful hints Chef Adam had no choice but to pull yet another masterpiece out of thin air. A dusting of dairy and a cruciferous crunch; the new cheddar cauliflower appetizer is as pleasing as it it is cheesing. Topped with house made pickled onion, which adds the ZING that brings it all together into a vegetation jubilation. This unassuming dish will leave you floating blissfully straight into your main course. Come see what we mean. Tues.-Thurs. 5pm-10pm and Fri.-Sat. 5pm-11pm πŸ“Έ @kal_lou_wei by @thecircleof5ths_
Fae Trap Floral. Roasted. Refreshingly decadent or decadently refreshing…who’s to say? Created by our very own @foxy.trott , the Fae Trap is the espresso martini’s dotty great aunt, ensconced in potpourri, full of whimsy, and with pockets full of old-timey sweets. The velvety smooth cold brew concentrate, courtesy of @walkietalkiecoffee , is boosted by notes of rose petals, marzipan, and a tangy mix of citruses. Stop by when you’re in the mood for a touch of the antique, and a glimmer of something beyond the veil. Circle of 5ths is open tonight 5-10pm. Walk-ins always welcome. We’ll see you when we see you! by @thecircleof5ths_
A Recess Of The Mind There are a hundred different ways to come up with a drink. One can focus on a particular spirit or ingredient, reverse ratios on a classic cocktail, or grab bottles at random and try to make it work like you’re a contestant on Chopped with 2 minutes to throw everything in the blast chiller. The sky’s the limit, but the plummet is sadly, also very real. One of OUR favorite methods for recipe development is the approach of β€œfind a food you like and turn it into something boozy”. That’s where A Recess of the Mind came from- a take on ants on a log from the way back when where we used to trade lunches with friends, rushed home to catch up on cartoons on PBS, and the only way to get us to eat a vegetable was by slathering it in peanut butter and sugar. Bright, crisp, vegetal notes from the made in house celery syrup pair well with the smooth and roasted flavors of a pisco (a Peruvian brandy) that we infuse with peanut butter powder. Add a whisper of lemon for grip, and top it off with a little ruby port wine float for that raisin-ish sweetness and you have yourself a little glass of nostalgia that maybe helps you remember the past and, depending on the quantity consumed, gives you a brighter outlook on the present. Open tonight 5-10 pm - Happy Hour 5-7 pm by @thecircleof5ths_
45 minutes from Cleveland. 30 minutes from Canton. 1.5 hours from Sandusky. 2 hours from Toledo, Columbus and Pittsburgh. So close to your heart you can almost taste it. . . . #akron #ohio #arts #district by @thecircleof5ths_
Since @olroylacroix posted about his move up the ladder I figure I'd let you fine folks in on my big move as well! I am officially Front of House Director @thecircleof5ths_! I love this restaurant and the people in it soooo much and I'm just so happy amd honored to be the one guiding it where it wants to go. With the help of the ever supportive team @mtroppe024 @spicy.agava_mustard @brookeruhlin @olroylacroix @sassosaurus_rex @ruee.bee @hercddc and @spensah_ I'm so pumped to release this first (of hopefully many) menu(s) that we've been working hard to bring you! See ya downtown friends! Also if you know me you know I'm obsessed with vintage and decor and I have been decorating this space like a mad man so come see what cool new stuff I've brought in! Special thanks to @kal_lou_wei for the stunning photography work and @kel_orhighwater for the immaculate cocktail and food staging. by @thecircleof5ths_
Back in the saddle again. I’ve kinda sorta kept this under wraps over the last couple of weeks for no real reason other than it all feels so surreal and I’m rusty af so I was waiting to see whether the elusive rabbit could in fact be pulled from the hat once more. I am officially the bar manager @thecircleof5ths_ and have been working with this amazing team to come up with a shiny new bar + kitchen menu and… I could not be happier with how everything and everyone has turned out and up. We’ve got granny smith apple margaritas, spiced pumpkin shrubs, pork belly, ants on a log but make it xxx, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, whisky sours, chicken and dumplings- you want thingamabobs? We’ve got twenty! Hard launch of the menu is set for tomorrow, but come by whenever you’ve got a night free and the itch to get out and about. The food is killer and @spicy.agava_mustard has outdone himself yet again with dishes that are the very definition of comfort and cozy. I will be eating the waldorf salad for every shift for the foreseeable future. Huge shoutouts and congratulations to @foxy.trott for her new role as well and for her hand in wrangling this not so little undertaking of ours. Big thanks to @mtroppe024 for trusting me not to muck it all up. This is just a sneak peek of the menu- more photos and photos stylings to come thanks to the combined Herculean efforts of @kal_lou_wei and @strega_party , who will both probably get sick of me tagging them in the days/weeks/months to come. I walked away from running a bar in an effort to keep my health and sanity (what little of it I’m genetically pre-disposed towards) intact and while the past year has ebbed and flowed in those particular departments, I feel lucky to be where I’m at, who I am, and doing what I seemingly can’t ever keep myself from doing. Stop in- stay awhile- bring a good book- have a drink or three. Tip your servers. Much love and happier days ahead, y’all. by @thecircleof5ths_

We can not wait to see you at our table Akron. by @thecircleof5ths_
