UPDATE**

Dartmouth Food Festival: a further update to our weekend plans.

With strong winds forecast, both our coffee stand in Royal Avenue Gardens and our retail stand on South Embankment will now be closed on Saturday.

Matteo’s talk at the Flavel Arts Centre is still going ahead on Saturday, 9.30-10.15am (tickets now sold out).

Sunday is going ahead as planned. You’ll find us in both locations, serving coffee and cakes in Royal Avenue Gardens, with coffee to take home from our retail stand on South Embankment.

Other parts of the festival are still running on Saturday, including the Market Square, talks, workshops and chef demonstrations. Head to @dartmouthfoodfestival for the full update.

Thank you to the festival team for navigating a difficult forecast. We’re looking forward to seeing you this weekend.

We take a sample partway through the roast to see how the beans are coming along and make sure we’re happy with how each batch is developing.

We’ve actually got more coffees on offer at once than we’ve ever had, and they’re all pretty unique. Pick up a bag in any our cafes or order online for delivery. by @thecuratortotnes

We’re very happy to be stocking Mel Ceramics at The Square. The two mugs and beaker pictured here were wheel-thrown by Meli in her garden studio.

Meli’s Italian heritage inspires her work, from the forms of her tableware to her glazes. She often draws on details from Mediterranean places, with glazes such as pistacchio (pistachio) and sale (salt).

These pieces are from her latest range, ‘Consciously sourced, from ground to table’, made with materials sourced within Europe. The stoneware clay comes from St Agnes in Cornwall, while the glazes include ingredients such as red iron oxide from Spain and quartz from Scotland.

We spend a lot of time thinking about what goes into a cup of coffee. It’s lovely to have Meli’s work here, with just as much thought given to the cup itself. Come and see the pieces up close next time you’re at The Square.
