POSTS STORIES REELS

It took me about eleven years to get here. From August 2010 when I first stepped into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to make enquiries about admission till this very moment; it's been an absolute journey.
There's been alot of ups & way too many downs along the road, but here I am, standing, smiling & super excited. I remember going home for Christmas in 2018 simply because I wanted to inform my mother that I was going to drop out of school (while nursing my second extra year) & she vehemently opposed the move. The stories are plenty mhen!

In a few days time, it'd be my birthday again & in a few weeks it'll be my Convocation from Obafemi Awolowo University (after so long). I'm nothing short of grateful for the journey & the process so far.

I picked up this quote from a movie I watched very recently and it entirely sums up how I feel at the moment & going forward:

“I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring.” - @davidbowie

Over & out,

The last time I saw my mum in person was in early January 2021.

We had a really big fight when I went visiting for Christmas of 2020 & she shut me off for a few weeks from January. (Agbor 2021)
When she cooled off weeks later, I apologized and we moved past the issues at hand.

Since then (March 2021) it's been phone calls, text messages and emails to catch up on each other's well-being and welfare. I being in Abuja & her in Port Harcourt.

If I begin to write all I love about my mum here, the 3000 character length of this post won't contain it; but I'll just list 3 of them:

1️⃣ She's an amazing giver and she doesn't know how to with-hold showing love to everyone around her.

2️⃣ As a person living with a disability from birth, my mum has been the primary source of motivation and inspiration to me in becoming a unique person , daring to challenge the normals and do amazing things despite my disability.

3️⃣ Mummy Gòmínà is everybody's guy! If you meet my mum for the first time, you'd feel so at ease and at home with her in no time. I learnt how to be like that from her & it's probably one of the most amazing thing about her that she's passed on to her children.

Her birthday is in a few weeks time (April 5th to be precise) & I really would love to give her a surprise visit in Port Harcourt to celebrate with her.

Thank you @greenafrica__ for the opportunity to share this with you, my friends, followers and the world.

This year, for the very first time ever, I would be aiming to convene an event on December 3rd to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This year marks 20 years since the United Nations under the CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) has gathered the global community together to celebrate all the over 1.5 billion humans living ever day with a significant disability.

My own goal would be to spotlight, educate and celebrate people living exceptionally with disabilities while challenging those not living these struggles to do better in being inclusive for the good of all.

All these in line with this year's theme which is: "Building for Progress, Advancing the Future".

As the days go by, I'd be sharing more details to this session and this cause across my platforms.

Come along with me.

📆 01-11-2026;
📌 New Covenant Church, Abuja Main Center, Laura District, Abuja.

🖊️ 📝Every season of my life has been a testament of God's goodness and sometimes I can't find the right words to express that gratitude well enough to people only between me & God.

Today I shared a testimony in church about how one time (several years ago) God saved myself & my mum from being involved in a ghastly motor accident on our way to Jos; there's been so many occasions where I was miraculously saved but that one in particular stayed with me.

Another one was a near miss head on collision with a trailer on high speed on a hill at a bend in the rain.

Typing it doesn't give a perfect idea of how much the event felt but one day, I'll share the experience.

35 years and counting and the testimonies keep coming.

Thank you Jesus. Gomina is truly grateful.

(6/52) - Gratitude Changes What You See

Nigeria will teach you gratitude whether you signed up for the class or not. 😅

We are the people who do mental math at the market before the seller finishes the price. Who hear a hundred promises a day in election season and still wake up and do the work anyway. Who have learned to say “thank God” and “we move” in the same breath.

Now here’s the part nobody tells you. Gratitude is not what you feel when life is easy. It is the lens that lets you see the good that was already there.

Speaking of which: today is my birthday. 🎂 Another year of grace, of lessons I did not ask for but needed, of people who still pick up when I call, and of doors that closed and turned out to be mercy in disguise. I do not take a single one of them for granted.

And if you need proof that late is not lost, look at Harry Kane. 33 years old. Years of waiting for a team trophy before he finally got his hands on one at Bayern. This week he walked up to the Ballon d’Or stage as the first Englishman to win it in 25 years. His timeline was never wrong. It was just his.

So whatever you are waiting on, give thanks for what is already in your hands. The thank-you comes first. The “more” comes after.

Week 6 of 52. Save this. Send it to someone who needs the reminder. And if you want to wish me a happy birthday, the comments are open. 😄

Thirty-five years of experience doing life as a Nigerian but I'm convinced of one certainty:

"I'VE NOT YET EVEN BEGUN TO EXPERIENCE WHAT GOD HAS IN STOCK FOR ME!"

My life's journey so far has been a testament of God's grace, his goodness and a continuous display of his glory.

When I start to share all that these 35 years have accumulated in my story, you'll understand what exactly makes me, Gomina, so special.

Happy 35th birthday David Adeyemi Jesutomisin Oluwaseun Ayobami, the firstborn, first son of James & Esther Adesina.

(5/52) - Comparison is a Thief!!!

My charge for this week is specifically for anyone who's benchmarking their story, their journey with someone else's progress.

You're on a unique path, your story is different from even your very twin sibling so please STOP COMPARING!

ALOT of the people you're comparing yourself with are also going through it too and they're also having their own fair share of these passing through life experiences.

Don't let comparison steal your joy and purpose in life.

Galatians 6:4 (NIV) said it all: "Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else..."

That's enough for this week. See you next week.

My name is David Adesina & my name will no longer be associated with smallness, negativity, lack, inefficiency, stagnation, unproductive outcomes, delays or anything that's not screaming greatness.

I am more than a conqueror, I am a champion, I am victorious, I am recognised for excellence, I am known around the world for beautiful, reliable, top class work.

The works of my hands are blessed, the fruits of my vineyard are a rare breed that attracts kings, nobles, men of high esteem, nations around the world to my domain.

PS: 🚨⚠️ The caption is in the audio, so turn on the sound to also be blessed by Apostle Femi Lazarus' declarations on this one.
