Been extremely discouraged leading up to my first half marathon. I’m battling fatigue, nerves and I am extremely hard on myself when I don’t do as well as I am used to.

I also pulled off 11 miles on 3 hours of sleep, barely ate the day before and a bad cramp in my leg.

I’m a pelt waist regardless.

Less than 30 from 13.1

🏅 MEDAL MONDAY | SPACE CITY 10-MILER 💙

10.36 miles. 2:38:00. A whole lot of emotions. 🥹

My first 10-mile race HUMBLED me! 😩 Cramps hit at mile 7, my pace suffered, and I was disappointed. But I FINISHED!

As a mid-size runner training for my first half marathon, I’m learning that progress isn’t always measured by pace.

If you know my testimony, you know this journey has never been just about running. 💙

I can be disappointed in my pace and still be proud of my progress. Both can be true.

4 more weeks. 1 more race. Then 13.1 miles. 🏃🏾‍♀️✨

I really just be doing stuff. 😭😂

Because WHO voluntarily signs up to run 10 miles?! Oh wait… ME. And the craziest part? This is literally part of my half marathon training schedule. 😩🏃🏾‍♀️

One month and two days until my FIRST half marathon, and at this point, I’m just trusting the process and questioning my own decisions along the way.

My God, on today! 😭😂

Signed, a runner who clearly doesn’t know how to sit down. 🫠

Three days. Three looks. Same assignment. ✨
A little purple, a little black, and a burgundy moment that deserved its own introduction. ❤️

I had such a beautiful time serving, creating, hosting, and apparently turning the hallway into my own little runway while I was at it. 🤭

Come with me to do something completely voluntary. 🏃🏾‍♀️😂

8.23 miles. By choice. On purpose. Nobody was chasing me. Nobody made me sign up for a half marathon. I literally chose this life.

Unfortunately. 😭

But 8.23 MILES?! Yeahhhh, Charlotte… I’m coming. 🥹🏅

And just like that… the credits started rolling. 😂🎬

What a week. What an experience. What a way to close out another successful conference.✨

Happy Medal Monday 🥇

Another reminder that I can do hard things.

10K Down
7 weeks + 5 days until the big day!

No soft launch. No relationship updates. No play-by-play.

I might just pop back up married with an elopement photo dump and a pregnancy announcement. 😭😂

Some things are better when they’re protected, private, and enjoyed by the people actually in them. 🤎

Yesterday’s 10K taught me something I think I’m going to need for this entire running journey: every run won’t be the same.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in my pace. I know what I’ve been capable of in training, so naturally, I wanted to see that reflected on race day.

But I’m learning not to let one pace take away from the bigger picture.

I RAN A 10K RACE. 🥹🏃🏾‍♀️

This running journey has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. It’s challenging me physically, but it’s also growing me mentally and emotionally in ways I never expected.

I’m learning patience.
I’m learning resilience.
I’m learning how to keep going when things don’t look or feel the way I imagined.
And I’m learning to be proud of myself while still leaving room to grow.

So no, yesterday wasn’t the pace I wanted.

But yesterday was still progress.

And I’m extremely grateful for every mile that is shaping me into the runner, and the woman, I’m becoming. 🤎

10K complete. Half marathon training continues. 🏅

Sometimes you have to sign up before you know if you can do it. 😂

When I registered for this 10K, I had never run 6.2 miles. I didn’t know if I could run 6.2 miles. I just knew I wanted to try.

And somehow, signing up for something I wasn’t sure I could do gave me a reason to train until it didn’t feel quite so impossible anymore.

So here I am… headed to pick up my bib for the 10K I signed myself up for before I had any business knowing whether I could actually do it. 😂

Sometimes the commitment comes before the confidence.

We’ll see what happens. 🏃🏾‍♀️👀
