The best aesthetic work, Dr Philip Dong will tell you, should rarely be obvious. The goal is not artificial flawlessness but something harder to achieve and far more enduring: results that feel harmonious, refreshed and entirely believable. It is a philosophy shaped by an unusual clinical path—cardiothoracic surgical training at Royal Papworth NHS Foundation Trust, membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons England, and a Distinction in Dermatology from Queen Mary University of London. The precision that surgical discipline demands is something Dr Dong carries unchanged into every consultation at @theheraclinic, his practice at Asia Square Tower 2 in Singapore's CBD. Acne scars aren’t always just a surface-level concern. 👀

Some indented scars are tethered to fibrous tissue beneath the skin, which may require a more targeted treatment approach.

Sometimes, understanding what’s underneath is the first step to addressing what you see on the surface. 🧬

PDRN vs PN: What’s the difference? 🧬

Both are DNA-derived, but their size and delivery methods matter.

💧 Topical PDRN faces limitations in penetrating the skin barrier.
✨ Injectable PN delivers the ingredient directly into the skin to support hydration and rejuvenation.

Before trying the next viral skincare product, look beyond the ingredients and consider how they’re delivered.

Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide what’s the difference? 💉

They may sound similar, but they work differently:
🧬 Semaglutide → targets GLP-1
🧬 Tirzepatide → targets GLP-1 + GIP

Both can help regulate appetite and blood sugar, but they work through different pathways.
💡 Most importantly, these are prescription medications, not simply “weight-loss injections”.
The right option depends on your health, medical history and treatment goals so it’s best discussed with a doctor. 👩🏻‍⚕️

Recombinant Enzymes: What makes them different?

Recombinant technology allows enzymes to be produced with greater control over quality and consistency.

And different enzymes can have different targets:
🔬 Collagenase → supports collagen remodelling
🔬 Lipase → targets fat-related concerns
🔬 Lyase → supports tissue fluidity & permeability
🔬 Keratinase → supports skin renewal
🔬 Hyaluronidase → breaks down hyaluronic acid

In other words, different enzymes, different roles depending on the concern being addressed.
