We couldn’t let National Cat Day end without sharing The Herb Shop felines! Jasper is our oldest and most handsome boy! He came to us from a former Herb Shop employee years ago!

Birdie (in the front) and her mom Pearl are our sweet, sweet girls-we actually acquired these two special cats from a Herb Shop customer! #catdistributionsystem🐾
And yes, we have a special spot for void kitties (even though it’s so hard to get a good picture) 🐈‍⬛

And finally our silly grandcat Kiwi!

We’d love to see all our Herb Shop friends cats too so please post pics in the comments! 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

We’ve got a new employee on the schedule today… Vivi, my 14-year-old!

It’s shaping up to be a busy Saturday, so she’s getting a crash course in the family business — helping customers, learning the ropes, and finding out exactly what Mom does!

They’re learning, and I’m one very proud mom, so if things move a little slower than usual today, we appreciate a little extra patience and grace.

Be kind to the new kid — the boss is their mom, and she’s already making them work on a Saturday. 😂

Thanks for always being so good to our family and our little shop. ❤️ by @theherbshop

Whether you’re planning a Labor Day celebration or thinking ahead to tailgating, we have everything you need to celebrate with deliciousness! #labordaycookout #tailgatingfood by @theherbshop

Like so many millions of people across the world, I was devastated to learn of Dolly Parton’s passing on Tuesday. She has always been a huge part of my life, from listening to her music since I was a small child, to visiting Dollywood with my family (and seeing the famed coat of many colors!) as a preteen, to sharing her music with my own children, and even being lucky enough to see her perform live.

Dolly’s remarkable talent, generosity, kindness and the way she has used her success to make a difference have been an inspiration, and I can think of no better way to honor her remarkable legacy than to collect donations for her Imagination Library.

10% of all sales through 9/25 will be donated to Imagination Library, and we will also have a donation jar at the stand if you would prefer to donate that way!

Started in 1995 by Dolly and inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books monthly to children from birth to age 5. Currently operating in 5 countries, the Library has gifted over 332 million books!

We’re so happy to celebrate a woman whose influence reaches far beyond music by supporting a cause that was so close to her heart. by @theherbshop

Wishing all of our students, teachers, staff, and families a wonderful first day back to school! Wishing all of you a wonderful year of learning and growing!

We’ll have a modified schedule this morning as I take some time to see my own kids off for their first day. Thank you, as always, for understanding the balance of being a small business owner and a mom. ❤️ by @theherbshop

Sorry for any inconvenience friends-We wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be closed today as our home is still without power and water and we are cleaning up debris.
We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this time. We plan on reopening Friday. Thank you! ❤️ by @theherbshop
