I had a lot of people ask me on the last video, how did I get the ash line or get my trimmers to hit like this. Well, the secret is, there is no secret.

Ash lines are a result of CLEAN/DRY hair and skin plus having your trimmers properly sharpened and adjusted right. Blades should NOT be flush as that can lead to cuts and skin irritation but they just be adjusted to the point where they cut the HAIR and not the client.

My method, either I shampoo my clients or have them come with their hair cleaned already. And I still use 91% alcohol on the areas of the skin and hair that I will be lining and also a LIGHT HOLD hair spray. I want the hair and skin completely dry for the lineup. That’s it, that’s all.

One more thing, this is the ONLY time I use alcohol on my clients skin and it’s for an intentional purpose. Yall need to stop using alcohol as an aftershave tho because the alcohol causes skin irritation. Use an aftershave spray that has oil in it. DM me if you want to know what I use.

Being a high-performance barber isn’t about cutting more hair—it’s about becoming a better man behind the chair.

Here are 5 things that will transform your career:

1. Master your mindset.
2. Build disciplined daily habits.
3. Deliver an unforgettable client experience.
4. Learn business, not just barbering.
5. Commit to constant growth.

The barber you become determines the business you build.

Which one are you working on right now? 👇

Stop letting your ego keep you stuck.

Inspiration isn’t copying—it’s learning. Every great barber, entrepreneur, and artist was inspired by someone before they found their own style.

Get inspired. Take what you learn. Make it your own.

That’s how growth happens.

Honest truth, this industry can be brutal at times because we rely on people for our income. But these 3 principals have helped/still helping me to sustain longevity in this industry:

1. Patience
2. Discipline
3. Desire to continuously grow

These 3 will help you get through slow days, slow weeks, even slower seasons. But you have to be willing to put in the work and show up even when you don’t feel like it. You schedule reflects your growth or lack their of. Simply put.

The consultation isn’t small talk — it’s where the real service begins.

A solid consultation does 3 things:

1. It aligns expectations
No guessing. No “this not what I wanted” moments. Just clarity before the clippers even touch the hair.
2. It builds trust
When clients feel heard, they relax. And relaxed clients become loyal clients.
3. It separates professionals from hobbyists
Anybody can cut hair. Not everybody can understand the client before they cut.

The best barbers don’t just cut — they communicate, analyze, and deliver with intention.

If you want better results, higher retention, and stronger relationships…
slow down and master the consultation.

What’s one question you always ask during your consultation? Drop it below 👇

Building something that impacts and has longevity through the ups and downs requires one to first put in the work required to build themselves…

Most barbers think the haircut is what builds clientele…

But let me ask you something—

Why do some clients stay loyal to a barber who’s not even the “best” in the shop?

And why do others leave a barber who can actually cut?

It’s not always about skill.

It’s about how people feel when they sit in your chair.

• Do they feel respected?
• Do they feel comfortable?
• Do they feel valued… or just like another appointment?

That’s the difference between chasing clients
and building real clientele. by @theiconuniversity

A lot of barbers think ownership is the only way up.
It’s not.

There are barbers hitting 6 figures right now
just by mastering the chair.

It’s about how you move:

• Pricing your services with intention
• Managing your time like it matters
• Building real client relationships
• Staying consistent with your standards

Ownership is a path… not the requirement.

What do you think—ownership or execution? 👇 by @theiconuniversity

Most barbers want a suite…
But most barbers aren’t ready for one.

Everybody sees the freedom.
Nobody talks about the responsibility.

A barbershop can build you, sharpen you, and give you the reps you need…

But a suite?
That exposes everything.

No walk-ins.
No safety net.
No excuses.

If you don’t have demand…
your business will feel it immediately.

There’s no wrong path.

But there IS a wrong time to move.

Be honest… where are you right now?

2️⃣ Suite (established)
3️⃣ Thinking about moving
