Paper flower making class with Meghan , the founder of @thegreenpaperflower. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 I LOVE making paper flowers. I’m so out of my element and it reminds me of being an enthusiastic little girl in elementary school art class. Full of wonder, excited to pick from the pretty shades of hand dyed papers, loving each step, and giddy that my project came out right. Not only is Meghan the BEST teacher, she is hilarious. She calms the room and makes the whole process joyful and relaxing! Our Island Camp gals made gorgeous gems!! You know Island Life is kind of tough, we seafaring gals had no shops (other than the fabulous museum and amazing trunk shows). So Meghan was also our candy mule!!! 😂 She arrived off the ferry with a huge tote bag of candy for the group!!!! We love you Meghan and we were so happy to see you again on an Island Hopper trip. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Pro tip: @thegreenpaperflower company sells gorgeous flowers and paper plants you can buy online for the holidays!! Huge thank you to @jcbphoto @jcb_stitches for bringing magnificent artisans to Chebeague!!! by @theislandhoppertrips
Custom Island Hopper LL Bean totes with our Maine mussel logo were a gift for our Chebeague Island guests. After our felt buoy class with @thirdlee_co many of the gals adorned their bags. Guess who made this magnificent buoy with the colored geometric circles?!! by @theislandhoppertrips

Oh Island Girls, we love you so!!! Thank you so much for bringing your A game to Chebeague!! What an AMAZING group of creative, joyful, smart, witty and inclusive women. Rockstars, one and all!! CHE-BABES forever!! xx by @theislandhoppertrips
There are a million songs playing through my head as I look at these photos I have finally uploaded from my camera. I believe "Days like these" by Van Morrison is the appropriate theme song for this day. I can feel myself back in this moment of time, on a small island in Maine with 20 plus fabulous women. The energy was electric as this vibrant group of creative women tried something new. A huge shout out to Janet Blyberg and Kristin F. Simmons for bringing this amazing morning activity for the Island Camp gals. Kristin came over on the ferry and taught a watercolor class on painting the Frances, the sailboat we were sailing on that week. (see previous post) We provide creative opportunities for all levels of experience and expertise. We want a beginner to feel safe and comfortable trying something new. We also want an artist to thrive. The goal is to have fun, learn something new, and feel the joys of youthful exploration. At these two tables we had a painter/needlepoint designer and an architect. We also had women with a variety of different creative levels and confidence. Everyone went home with a beautiful painting of The Frances. Thank you Kristin, for making this such a fun and rewarding experience. We love you!! As I look around the tables of women my heart is so full. This group is made up of a lot of brand new Island Hoppers and alumni from all of our different trips. The fun part about the alumni is that they either have never met each other or they are seeing each other again years later. This group all became wonderful friends. The friendship was never our intention when we launched this business. We started as tour guides...little did we know we were accidentally fostering a group of creative women traveling the globe together!! Catalog for Maine Island Camp 2027 will launch in the next three days via our substack email list!! CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS AGAIN!! by @theislandhoppertrips
