#transformationtuesday Top left is from late December-ish. Bottom left is March 21st (I lost another 6-8 pounds or so after that picture). Right picture is from today.

It’s been a wild 8-9 months. 192lbs down to 134lbs then now I’ve been maintaining 160lbs. Feeling unhappy in my super dad bod to feeling wiped out from the stairs in my house to feeling stronger then I ever have. Getting diagnosed with Chrons disease may be the best thing that ever happened to me. I don’t take my health for granted like I used to and I’m committed to putting in the time to keep my body in shape like I used to be. I choose to be better and stronger today BECAUSE of my sickness not despite of it.
Don’t bounce back, bounce forward. Succeed because of your challenges not despite them. I have a while farther to go, so I want you to all hold me accountable in hitting my future benchmarks. #sixminutemile #runamarathon #completeanironman #bench315

NONE of my progress would be possible without my endlessly supportive, loving and patient wife @justdani04 . I literally owe my sanity through it all to her. She has been my rock day in and day out ✊🏼 by @thejakebennington

Vulnerability (noun) - the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.

This isn’t easy to share.

It is around the anniversary of my most recent Crohns Disease flare ups.

Two years ago in February I had a flare up take me from 192 pounds to 132 over four months.

February last year I was rocked again. Around this time in 2020 I left the hospital after a week of pain and hopelessness.

The 3 1/2 weeks leading up to the hospital I dropped from 164 to 127 pounds.

After getting out I asked the incredibly talented @susan.yokshas to take these pictures of me. Although I was already regaining weight I wanted to capture this event.

Crohns has been hard for me. At times it has stripped me of everything. I get that some people would want to forget things like that. Forget the pain. Forget the tears.

But where Crohns has taken much it has given me more.

I don’t want to forget, I want to remember.

It has given me a deep gratitude for good health. It has helped me appreciate having energy, to do my daily tasks and to play and enjoy time with my children. It has made me forever admire and adore my wife who was there for me in every way that a partner could be.

I have learned in abundance from my disease. The last two years have been the hardest of my life, but they truly have been the best years for my life. I have found an inner self that I had lost sight of and rediscovering that has blessed me.

During the photo shoot I was overcome with what I had overcome. Suddenly, I was crying. I felt completely exposed. I felt so vulnerable. Hopefully these images help someone out there.

Do people have worse challenges? Absolutely. Does Crohns leave people worse than it has left me? People die from Crohns. I’m grateful it’s not worse for me.

You can rebuild. You can. When the journey back seems impossible and you don’t have what it takes just remember...consistency over intensity.

The last two pictures are for @justdani04. I’m holding the symbol of commitment and support that got me through it all ❤️

When I was officially diagnosed with Crohn’s disease I had to reevaluate a lot of things in my life.

This meant accepting lifelong flare ups, severe pain and uncontrollable fatigue among other symptoms.

I started to feel a list of the things I “couldn’t do” build and grow in my mind.

I knew I needed to find a way to get on top of this disease or I would always be caged within my own fears and limitations.

Now, I am diagnosed with PURPOSE.

To prove this to others, but most importantly to myself, I committed to complete a full Ironman, something I had never dreamed of doing even in the best of health. The timing couldn’t have been better as @ironcowboyjames was preparing to embark on completing 100 in 100 consecutive days, all in my backyard here in Utah. He showed me the way.

Thanks to @vidarmy I was able to capture some of the training and process of the build up before the event.

This episode displays the swim, which was something I started completely from scratch with. I haven’t felt that out of my element in many many years. It was brutal, but ultimately I was glad to be humbled and have to fight so hard to figure it out.

Enjoy, more episodes to come.

You are the ceiling on your business. What good is the strongest roof if the foundation beneath it is cracked? The truth will always come out. It’s not your people, your admin, or your marketing that caps your company — it’s YOU. 🏚️ Build yourself first.

80% of leadership is emotional management. If you can’t control your anger, your stress, and your EGO — you will destabilize everyone you lead. They will emulate your example. Master yourself first.

Aptive has meant the world to me the last 3 years. It was my first ever job and the only job I’ve ever known.

So grateful for all the mentors I had along the way, that pushed me every single day to hit my goals! @hunter_horne1 @banewilder @donniemoser @tosh.mackintosh

So grateful for some huge victories along the way. From hitting a golden door my first full year at 19, winning all star tournaments, getting third in the ANT tourney, selling 20k in a day 3 separate times, servicing 60k in a week and servicing over 6.5 million dollars in my downline this year.

Excited for my next chapter with @vantage.mktg and @thejakebennington by @thejakebennington
