Quick update on Mary…we are in neutral right now. No more news from yesterday, just request for continued prayer as she navigates her new normal. Though she’s still working on that plan, it’s going to be a whole new journey! 🙏🏻 have been answered and the power of 🙏🏻 is strong! Thank you all and when we have more to share, I’ll let you know!! by @thejulielarae

Good news update on my bestie Mary. She saw her cancer team in Seattle today, and her treatment plan is hormone-based, not chemo. Her cancer is stage 4, estrogen receptor positive, which means it responds to hormone therapy. She'll receive a monthly hormone shot, a daily pill that helps slow cancer growth, and an infusion to strengthen her bones. Her team is also doing genomic testing on her biopsy, and she has follow-ups with radiation and urology. Thank you all for your prayers and love — I'll share updates as I can. by @thejulielarae

Tomorrow’s the big day! I’m asking everyone to pray in a big way for Mary Terrell Midles 🙏🏻❤️ Her trip to Swedish with Dwight Midles and Garrett Terrell and Dwight sister Roberta. We are hoping for a clear path forward for her treatment. We pray for guidance for all her care team. We pray for peace for the family and understanding for what they may face. Mary is Strong, faithful, loving and resilient. She is a fighter! She chooses to fight, so let’s put on our gloves 🥊🥊 and hop in the ring with her. by @thejulielarae

Hi everyone — a quick note so Mary doesn't have to answer everyone individually. She's home and resting, and she's not eating or tolerating much food right now, so please no outside food at this time. Thank you for understanding. Flowers are welcome. If you'd like to visit, please connect with me first — Dwight has a schedule to work around, so we need to find a time that fits. Thank you all for loving on her. by @thejulielarae

I was able to spend a couple hours with Mary this afternoon. She looks great, but is still not eating much and not sleeping. Please continue your prayers for comfort, she needs it. Tuesday is a big day for her, her appointment at Swedish with the oncologist to see which direction she’ll be going with her treatment. Send lots of love, continue praying. I want you to know that she is taking the time to read your messages but just doesn’t have the energy to respond. Lots of love. ❤️🙏🏻 by @thejulielarae

The power of prayer. Thank you Valerie Terrell for the original post! Mary Terrell Midles we love you! by @thejulielarae

I spent several hours with Mary today. She’s exhausted and not sleeping. Unfortunately, nausea won today. They didn’t discharge her, but should tomorrow. Her strength is there but she’s not able to eat or sleep. Let’s pray tonight is a better night for her.

Upon discharge, we enter into a new phase of her journey. Home care. My prayer is for the transition and keeping Dwight Midles in your prayers. He has stepped up in many areas. I’m going to start saying yes to her close circle if they are able to spend time, maybe an hour or two, and assist if necessary in those areas. She’s going home with a catheter and will need wound care for her back incisions.

I work during the day but will go and visit as often as I can.

She’s not eating a lot. She’s thinking yogurt, Mac and cheese, soft food for now.

Reach out if you can. Prayers are our first defense! To God give the glory!!

Love you all! by @thejulielarae

Asking for prayers for my best friend, Mary.

So many of you know Mary — through me, through PartyLite trips, or from all those Tacoma Rainiers games. We've been best friends for 50 years. You know her. She's strong and she's a fighter, and she needs all of us right now.

Here's what's happened. Mary is in the hospital in Olympia. A tumor weakened a bone in her neck and it broke during a chiropractic appointment — that's how this was found. The cancer has spread to her spine and the lymph nodes near her kidney. She beat breast cancer five years ago, and she's had biopsies this week; we're still waiting on results to know exactly where this one started. Her kidneys were blocked and struggling too, though the left one is doing better now and neither is failing, so that's more under control.

It's been a fight just to get her the surgery she needs. UW wouldn't take the transfer, and at one point today a doctor even tried to send her home. But your prayers are working — God sent one of the top neurosurgeons in Olympia, and he's agreed to do her neck surgery this weekend, Saturday or Sunday.

What's next is the surgery, then a long road of recovery and treatment after that. Please keep praying — for comfort from the pain she's in, for healing, and for strength for Mary, Dwight, and Garrett.

If you know Mary, you know her heart. Let's wrap her in that same love right back. I'll post updates as I have them. Thank you for loving her with me. Mary Terrell Midles we love you❤️ by @thejulielarae
