Would you believe that in just a few short years this little guy will grow to be 10ft+ and be feared by all of his counterparts 😳??? Don’t be fooled even for a second though because even at this size, this guy can still take your finger clean off ❗️

A true beauty that demands respect at all sizes 🐊🖤

Immobilized, Monitored, and Back to the Wild 🦒🇿🇦🌍

Giraffe capture, or what I like to call “organized chaos”, is definitely one of the most cowboy-like things you’ll ever witness in wildlife medicine! It requires extreme precision, preparation, and most importantly the ability to think on the fly 💡!

Today we fitted this beautiful girl with a solar-powered ear tracker to help researchers monitor movement patterns, behavior, breeding activity, and habitat use. Tracking technology like this gives conservation teams valuable insight into how giraffes move across the landscape—and helps inform better decisions for their long-term protection.

From the moment she touched the ground, to being back on her feet, this entire procedure took a total of 18 mins 👏🏾!

Job well done ❤️‍🔥 @wildetracks x @srb_wildlife

Cheetah Hindlimb Lameness 🐆🚨🇿🇦🩺

First case of the week and it was a definitely a successful one 👏🏾! From the moment the dart got placed, up to the handsome boy waking up, everything was excuted flawlessly and I was very happy with how this case turned out 🤓.

As mentioned in the video, conservative management was the decided means of treatment first before having to potentially consider more invasive/detailed diagnostics and/or treatments 🆗👍🏾.

Huge s/o to @wildetracks and @srb_wildlife for coordinating this experience and allowing me to lead such an amazing group of students to their first successful carnivore encounter 🐆❤️‍🔥

🚨❗️READ CAPTION FULLY❗️🚨

A lot of y’all were asking to see this clip from my recent post so here’s a longer version of it but first things first — CONTEXT (!!!)

This is the aftermath of a snake rescue called in by a local farmer who was struggling with having this snake eat his livestock. If we didn’t rescue and relocate this snake, she would have 100% been killed.

1. No, I am not hurting her (firm, but not forceful pressure is being used).

2. Yes, the safest place (for both parties) to restrain a snake this size is behind the head.

3. Her mouth open DOES NOT equal gasping for air, it means she’s trying to bite me.

4. Yes, she is attempting to fight back because she is WILD and doesn’t know we are trying to help her.

5. Any animal encounter I face I always take the opportunity to educate and bring awareness to the species, hence the facts in the video (and the excitement in my voice).

UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A VERY STRONG & POWERFUL CREATURE WHO SPENDS ITS LIFE FIGHTING (and winning) AGAINST ANIMALS MUCH BIGGER THAN MYSELF. SO TRUST ME WHEN I SAY SHE IS OKAY.

Lastly, this girl was safely and successfully relocated the same day and I’m sure is doing well, dominating her territory in the wild jungle of Indonesia 💚🇮🇩

🚨 Remember: Responsible animal lovers/influencers aren’t out here just harassing animals for the f#$k of it or for views — there’s always a reason for handling them. Whether it’s research, rescue, rehabbing, or education — there should always be a reason ☝🏾.
