Hardest part of Hyrox? Keeping your shirt on 💀

Of course I would gas myself out in the first 5 mins HAHAHA
From 10mins in I knew I was going to be fighting demons the whole race

From zero cardio to Hyrox in 12 weeks not bad for a first time. Funny thing is my expectations kept climbing as I improved my running, but I got humbled hard when my heart rate wouldn’t drop below 180bpm during the race and my running slowed down so much. Then it just went downhill from there. I got sloppy with my station work, every move I made felt slow. Cramped in every part of my leg I didn’t know could cramp, then of course I rolled my ankle once, then twice more during lunges #skillissue

Quitting was never an option but everything in my body was giving me a reason to give up. At one point, one longer stride would’ve given me another rolled ankle. No excuses though. If I was fitter and more conditioned none of that would’ve happened.

Shoutout to my Hyrox partner Pat picked up my scraps, led from the front when I was in the pain cave.

Didn’t get the time we wanted @ 1:29, this ones on me 🥲

Actually a pretty fun side quest. Extremely painful in the moment yet so rewarding. Now I’ve got a cooked ankle and a half marathon in 12 weeks. Being tested yet again, can’t wait to level up :)

Been skipping my runs because I hate running and then having to make up for it later in the week is even worse

Do it now when it’s most uncomfortable by @theklemenslim

4 months lean bulking 73kg → 77kg full-time 9-5

Long hours, stress, and a desk all day make it easy to let your diet slide. Here’s what worked for me:

• ~3,200 calories a day on average
• Roughly 1kg gained a month
• Meals planned before the week starts
• 5 days structured, 2 days flexible

Biggest challenge: fuelling lifting and running together. Calories go up on long runs, so I adjust instead of guessing.
