A little introduction to the family behind The Labrador & The Lady 🤎🐾

If you’re new here, welcome! And if you’ve been following us for a while, here’s a little more about the faces behind the camera.

There’s Ronnie, our gentle Labrador with the patience of a saint, and Maggie, our tiny Cavalier with a very big personality and absolutely no concept of personal space.

Then there’s me, the dog-obsessed photographer who somehow turned a love of dogs and taking photos into an entire Instagram account.

Behind the scenes, there’s also a very proud human sister, a husband who puts up with all the madness, and Jessy, our African Grey parrot, who makes sure the house is never too quiet!

And although she’s no longer here with us, our beautiful Betsy will always be part of our story. Forever loved, forever missed and always one of the family. 🤍

We’re a Yorkshire family sharing the everyday adventures, chaos, cuddles and little moments that make life with animals so special.

Expect plenty of beautiful photographs, puppy mischief, homemade treats, adventures and probably far too many pictures of two very spoiled dogs.

We’re so happy you’re here. We’d love to know a little about you and your four-legged family too! 🤎

A little lady with a very sophisticated wardrobe. 🤎

It’s Maggie’s turn to show off the beautiful Cream Herringbone collection from @bew_dogs

The soft neutral tones and delicate herringbone detailing look gorgeous against her tricolour coat, although I’m not sure she’s quite as innocent as these photographs suggest!

Ronnie might have started the modelling career, but Maggie is certainly making a name for herself.

If you’ve fallen in love with the collection too, you can use our discount code RONNIE10.

Ronnie’s verdict: very interested 😂🤍

We’ve recently added @ruskoshealth Skin & Coat supplements into Ronnie & Maggie’s routine, and safe to say Ronnie was immediately invested.

They contain salmon oil, vitamin C and vitamin E, and the best part from Ronnie’s point of view is that they come in little chews… which apparently makes them far more exciting than anything called a “supplement” has any right to be 😂

We were kindly gifted these to try and I think the photos probably sum up his opinion better than I ever could.

Cocktail hour looks a little different in our house… 🐾

Two very different personalities, two very different Pawer Water formulas!

Ronnie had his Calming Formula, while Maggie tried the Puppy Advanced Formula. 🤎

We had so much fun getting creative with this little cocktail-inspired shoot!

Thank you @pawerwater for sending these over for Ronnie and Maggie to try. ✨

Gifted products.

Remember, remember… Yorkshire Parkin for the pups! 🤎🐾

A little Yorkshire Bonfire Night tradition, with a dog-friendly twist!

I couldn’t resist making Ronnie and Maggie their own version of this classic autumn bake. A soft, carob and apple parkin-style cake, made especially for my two.

🤎 Ingredients

130g oat flour
1 egg
60g unsweetened apple purée
30g plain Greek yoghurt
1 tbsp xylitol-free peanut butter
1 tbsp carob powder
¼ tsp baking powder
A little water to get the right consistency

🌿 Method

Preheat your oven to 160°C fan.
Mix the egg, apple purée, yoghurt and peanut butter.
Add the oat flour, carob powder and baking powder.
Mix until combined, adding water gradually until you have a thick, spoonable cake batter.
Spread into a lined square baking tin.
Bake for approximately 20–25 minutes, until cooked through.
Allow to cool completely before cutting into little squares.

A little seasonal treat for your four-legged friends! 🧁

Always check ingredients are dog-safe, use xylitol-free peanut butter and serve small portions as an occasional treat.

Would your pups try Yorkshire Parkin? 🤎

A little Cinnamon & Bloom for our handsome boy 🤎🌿

Ronnie has been trying out his new Pine & Paw harness and I think you’ll agree he’s looking rather handsome!

The prettiest little print, gorgeous details and a lovely addition to his walking wardrobe. 🐾

Now, who’s ready for some adventures?

♥️ Something berry cute has arrived ♥️

Maggie is officially ready for the festive season in her new Berry cable knit jumper from @bew_dogs 🤎🎄

I absolutely love how cosy this little jumper is, and the colour looks SO cute on her! It’s soft, machine washable and perfect for keeping my little lady snug on those chilly winter days. 🐾

And just like that… Halloween is over!

We’re a little sad to say goodbye to spooky season, but SO excited for what’s next… ✨🎄

Maggie’s very first Christmas is coming, and we can’t wait to make it extra special.

Speaking of Christmas…

I’m on the hunt for doggy advent calendars for my two! 🎅🏻

I need something suitable for Maggie’s age and, importantly, poultry-free because she’s intolerant. And then something suitable for my big boy Ronnie.

So please send me your recommendations! What advent calendars are your dogs having this year? 🎄🐾✨

Bring on the Christmas magic! 🤎✨

Maggie’s first Halloween 🎃🐾

We did make it out trick or treating, but someone was VERY excited about the whole experience 😂

Ronnie was absolutely fine, but Maggie was a little too overwhelmed/excited by everything going on, so my husband brought them home for a cosy night in instead.

At least they looked ridiculously cute while they were out 🥹

Happy Halloween from Ronnie & Maggie ✨

🐾 Puppy School Diaries 🐾
This week’s homework from @thepuppymasteruk was all about enrichment and using our noses.

We started with one plastic cup with some treats underneath, then added some dummy cups and one treat-filled cup for Maggie to find.

Well… Maggie found it immediately 😂

And apparently there was absolutely no need to rip the cup apart, she simply moved it out of the way and helped herself. 😂🤎

Honestly, I think she may have been taking notes in puppy school a little too seriously.

Another homework task completed ✔️
