Ten years. Over a thousand designs. Countless pizzas, cocktails, and community memories. When @the_laundrette first opened, they took a chance on a couple of relatively new designer. What started as a few menus quickly turned into a creative partnership that lasted a decade. Together, we experimented, pushed boundaries, tried to improve hospitality norms and built a visual style that became part of the fabric of Chorlton. The Laundrette gave us room to grow, from trying out new ideas to mastering the now-iconic overhead table shot (a skill every creative should have in their toolkit!). They weren’t just clients, they are friends and collaborators who trusted us to shape how their brand looked and felt through every season, campaign, and cocktail launch. As their doors close, we’re proud to look back at the work, the lessons, and the shared ambition that helped both of us grow. The Laundrette was more than a restaurant, it was a creative playground and a true Manchester institution. Thank you for the trust, the opportunities, and the late-night menu briefs that turned into some of our favourite projects. Here’s to a decade of design, community, and creativity. 🍕 🖤 (Ps, these menus took some digging out! The amount of adapters needed to connect a 2014 hard drive to a Mac is wild!) by @thelaundrette__

Don’t be sad it’s over; smile because it happened. Dear friends and loyal patrons of The Laundrette Chorlton, After 12 wonderful years, we regret to announce the closure of our beloved restaurant. What began as a quirky spot turned into a community hub filled with laughter, friendships, and countless celebrations. We’ve enjoyed hosting everything from intimate date nights to lively parties, proudly holding the #1 spot on TripAdvisor in Manchester for over 5 years—thanks to your support. To our amazing customers: Your stories and smiles have meant everything to us. And to our incredible staff—past and present—you’ve turned this laundrette into a home. We couldn’t have done it without you. Unfortunately, rising costs and insufficient government support have made it impossible to keep our doors open. We’ll be serving our last slices and cocktails within the next month—come join us for one last hurrah. Thank you, Chorlton, for the memories and for being part of our journey. With gratitude, The Laundrette Team 💔🍕🍸 For inquiries about acquiring the space, please contact us at mailto:Chorlton@thelaundrette.uk.com by @thelaundrette__
