The Neshama necklace wasn’t just a random design found online. It started with @danayazdi and me sitting at a coffee shop in Tel Aviv this summer, talking for hours about the little pieces of Judaism that mean the most to me and figuring out how we could bring all of them together into something I would genuinely wear every day.

If you know me, you know I wear my Judaism proudly and loudly. 🤍

The first thing I knew I wanted was Shabbat candles. Lighting Shabbat candles is such a meaningful tradition to me, and it’s something I’ve been sharing with all of you online for almost four years.

From there, the necklace slowly became a collection of pieces of my story.

The challah was a continuation of my love for Shabbat. Fridays to me, like most is very special, and baking challah before Shabbat has become one of those little traditions I love.

The Magen David, self explanatory in my opinion.

The chai, meaning “life” but also representing the number 18, which happens to be the day I was born.

BH, Baruch Hashem, because it’s something I say constantly and a reminder to always be grateful. Thank God. For the big things, the little things, and everything in between.

And the dove, a symbol of peace and love, which felt so fitting for the way I try to move through my life and the things I care most deeply about. So much of what I do comes from wanting to share more love, more pride, more connection, and hopefully a little more peace too.

Dana and I went back and forth for days, making changes, moving things around, and obsessing over every tiny detail until it felt exactly right. Nothing on this necklace was random. Every charm, symbol, and placement was chosen intentionally, and that is what makes this piece so special to me.

There’s something very meaningful about seeing an idea that existed between two people at a coffee shop become something real that other people can wear too. And I think knowing where something came from, who created it, and the story behind it makes it even more special.

So here’s the story behind our necklace, designed together with so much love, meaning, and intention.

My Judaism. My story. Our design. 🤍 @shukstack by @thelaurenkagan

5787 🤍🍎🍯

This past year has brought so much change and so much to be grateful for. Made it a year in NYC, traveled, worked harder than I ever have, and met people who turned into family and made this city feel like home.

Going into 5787, I’m praying for a year filled with purpose, passion, love, health, and happiness. A year where I continue using my voice for what matters to me, loving my people loudly, and never taking for granted how lucky I am to be surrounded by this community.

Here’s to another year of growing, trusting, loving, laughing, and choosing light. ✨
