We entered 2024 full of hope, celebrating ten years of marriage, expecting something life-defining in the best way.
Instead, we were handed a diagnosis we never saw coming and a year that stripped everything down to what mattered most.
Chemo, radiation, surgery, and long quiet moments where God felt closer than ever before.
We did not know what the testimony would be, only that God was faithful before, during, and beyond the outcome.
He is still faithful, still loving, and still God, no matter how the story turns.

You’re not better than them.

You’re just redeemed.

It is easy to look at the world and feel frustrated. Corruption. Confusion. Everyone convinced they are right. And something in you wants to fight back.

But Scripture reminds us who we used to be. Foolish. Led astray. Controlled by our own desires.

The difference is not your discipline. It is not your righteousness.

It is “but God.”

So do not fight people. Pray for them. Because the same God who saved you can transform them.

You want to know why you don’t believe in yourself. It’s not because you need more confidence. More affirmations. More hype. It’s because you keep lying to yourself.

James said it plain. Be doers of the word and not hearers only. Deceiving yourselves.

Trust is a bridge built between saying and doing. Distrust is the chasm you fall into when that bridge breaks.

You say you want to make an impact. You scroll for an hour instead of create. You say you want to get fit. You choose comfort over the work. You say you want to connect with your kids. You bring work home instead of yourself.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick. You know what defers hope every single time. A man who keeps saying without doing.

Stop asking why you don’t believe in yourself. Start asking did I do today what I said I would. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Build the bridge one kept word at a time. And watch what happens to the man looking back at you in the mirror. He starts to look like someone you can believe in.

DM me KINGSMEN and let’s talk.

Every year, we take a step back from the gym.

Not because the work stops — but because becoming better requires time to reflect.

Summit gives our team space to challenge assumptions, share ideas, learn from each other and think about the leaders we want to become.

Because great coaching starts with personal growth.

Tell the truth. Period. by @themarioquezada

Your body is not a side project. It’s a temple.

Your wife needs you present. Your kids need you present. Your work needs you present. But you can’t be spiritually, emotionally, or mentally present if you’re physically running on empty.

Take care of your temple. Your temple will take care of you.

Today, not Monday:
Move your body. 30 minutes. No excuses.
Fuel it with intention.
Sleep like your calling depends on it. Because it does.

The best gift you can give everyone around you is a man who shows up ready.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?” 1 Corinthians 6:19

Get up. Get after it. Glorify God in your body.

I really don’t get it. I see so many outwardly strong Christian man who are inwardly Frah. What will it take for real Christian men to step up and lead other Christian men in the way of Christ? What will it take for men to literally answer the call of Jesus on their lives to disciple others? I really wanna know.

I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. That’s Isaiah forty three, twenty five. Isaiah forty four adds, I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist, return to me, for I have redeemed you. Both are a preview of what Jesus would finish on the cross.

Sin has a cruel side effect, it doesn’t let you forget. We replay it, sometimes even guard it, until it becomes the thing driving us. I grew up with a version of faith where guilt was the fuel, sin, then earn your way back, confess, confess, confess, as if love from God had to be paid for by being good. But no one is good except Jesus, and Scripture says He loved us before we were.

He took our guilt once, for all, and then chose to remember it no more, the God who knows everything choosing not to know the sin He already erased. Stop looking back at who you used to be. Return your gaze to the One who redeemed you. Who are we to remember what God has chosen to forget?

I get up at four thirty, not five. I don’t love it. I don’t love waking up before the sun or being asleep by eight thirty, and if I’m honest, that’s not my natural preference. But I’ve got little humans in my house who need me, and a wife who works tirelessly taking care of the house, the kids, and me. Paul says it in First Corinthians nine, I discipline my body and keep it under control.

When I skip training, my body runs on lower energy, and it stops performing the way my family needs it to. My mind follows suit. My heart follows suit. Eventually my soul follows suit too. So the early alarm was never about proving anything to the world, or to anyone watching.

I get up at four thirty because I love my family, and God calls me to a higher standard, to serve and love them first. If I don’t discipline myself for that, I won’t be able to show up the way I’m called to. Ask yourself what discipline you’ve been avoiding that isn’t really about you at all.

My dad is hyper practical, shaped by a generation that measured love through provision and a steady paycheck. He never fully understood my career, and ministry confused him even more. First Timothy five says don’t rebuke an older man, encourage him as you would a father, and Leviticus nineteen calls us to honor the face of an old man.

Honor doesn’t mean agreement. It means loving someone within the capacity they were given. One day you’ll wish you could hear his voice on the phone one more time. Call him today while you still can.

There’s a version of most men that used to dream without limits before life taught them to be practical instead. Scripture is full of God sized dreams being fulfilled, Joseph’s in Genesis thirty seven among them. First Corinthians two says no eye has seen and no ear has heard what God has prepared for those who love Him.

If your dreams aren’t big enough for only God to fulfill, they’re not big enough. Write down one dream you’ve dismissed as too big, and bring it to God in prayer today. He’s not waiting for you to figure it out. He’s waiting for you to ask.

A friend of mine, mid conversation about a dream trip, said the word if without thinking twice about it. God used that word to highlight something in my own thinking. An if doesn’t need faith. A when needs trust in God, the kind Hebrews eleven calls the assurance of things hoped for, the kind Jesus describes in Mark eleven when He says believe you’ve received what you ask for.

If keeps your dreams small and safe. When invites God into them fully. Pick one dream you’ve been saying if about, and rewrite it in prayer today using when instead. Your prayer life doesn’t need better words. It needs braver ones.
