We hear "shopping app" a lot in fashion tech to describe drastically different apps.

So I built The Shopping Matrix - mapping apps across 5 shopping stages (need recognition → search → evaluation → purchase → post-purchase) and 4 purchase types (utilitarian, necessity, "why not," taste-making).

I looked at 9 top shopping apps and categories to determine their "reach" and for what use cases and shopping stages their actually support.

What do you think? Did I get it right?

Here are my call outs:
>> Over 13 years and pinterest is still limited to inspo. Why?
>> Virtual try-on is just inspo. You'll be disappointed if you use it for more than that.
>> AI shopping isn't better than Google shopping yet.
>> TikTok is quietly dominating the entire journey.
