Happy One Year Since Release of @theperfectstickbook‼️ @toyebot and @nojoryous created this book as a creative challenge and as a legacy piece for their kids; they hoped the book would bring joy to others, but truly never anticipated the overwhelmingly positive feedback they got. They’ve heard that The Perfect Stick is encouraging connectivity, creativity and community, that it is part of story time at night, that it has wowed at show ‘n tell, and that family stick adventures are up 700%!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Dereks in this endeavour. And yes there will be a sequel, and yes, it’s in the works! ❤️🪵 by @theperfectstickbook

It’s so great seeing families enjoying @theperfectstickbook while on camping adventures!! Shout out to @alexis.fumiko.m & @stevemorrison2313 - they were already in the running for Parents of the Year, but earned extra votes for reading The Perfect Stick to Asher & Shay on a recent adventure. 🪵❤️ by @theperfectstickbook

Happy Father’s Day! Today we celebrate all the incredible people who show up with strength, kindness, love, and guidance - whether you’re a dad by birth, by choice, by heart, or by role. Thank you for your support, your example, your protection, and your unwavering presence. You are deeply appreciated and loved. Wishing you a day filled with joy, pride, and all the recognition you deserve - and maybe a hunt for The Perfect Stick!! by @theperfectstickbook

Hosting #TCSLive for @thecoachessite means hockey, hockey, hockey for three days for @nojoryous in Ann Arbor. Boy was he pleasantly surprised when Coach J Lee showed up with a copy of @theperfectstickbook!! Thanks for the support 🪵❤️ by @theperfectstickbook

We’re big fans of @oliverjeffers, Drew Daywalt and their crayons books, so it’s exciting their latest - The Day the Crayons Made Friends - is now available. Now we’re not saying their love of @theperfectstickbook influenced the brown crayon falling in love with a stick, but we’re not not saying that!! Both books are available now on Amazon. 🪵❤️ by @theperfectstickbook

Stick lovers unite! @nojoryous was recently invited onto @dest_loading to discuss @theperfectstickbook. It turns out host @1lucyarrington also wrote a children’s book, also about adventures with sticks! Hers is titled TRU and GrannyLu’s Perfect Stick Adventure and both are available on Amazon! Full interview is available on YouTube. ❤️🪵 by @theperfectstickbook

This influencer ad cost us one slurpee. Money well spent. 🤣

Picture this: You’re a kid again, scrambling through the woods or your backyard. And then—you see it. The holy grail of playtime: The *PERFECT* Stick. Maybe it’s sword-shaped, or just *feels* right in your hand. Suddenly, you’re a pirate, a wizard, an explorer. That stick? It’s *everything.*

Now imagine two authors—who’ve never met, from totally different walks of life and opposite ends of the country —both writing *entire books* about this exact experience. One’s a father son adventure; the other’s a grandparent-grandkid duo. But here’s the magic: they’re telling the same story.

We’re bringing together the creators of *The Perfect Stick* and *TRU and GrannyLu’s Perfect Stick Adventure* to unpack how a simple stick became a metaphor for childhood, connection, and the quiet truth that no matter who we are or where we come from… kids everywhere speak the same language: *play and adventure*

We’ll talk nostalgia, why sticks beat screen time, and how something as tiny as a shared memory can remind us we’re more alike than different. Stick around—you won’t want to miss this.” Stay tuned ‼️
