Our story

I met Karl on my first day working at Pickle Techie Center. I’d been told that we would be partnering for tournaments and managing PTC together but I honestly didn’t even know if he would understand me because of how limited my Tagalog is. Regardless, I had a feeling we would get along, but little did I know we’d become brothers on and off the court. Karl and I teamed up for everything. From maintaining courts and queues, to training and conditioning, we became almost inseparable (since we both left home to stay at PTC with no car or motor lol).

During the first PTC invitational, our chemistry was tested after we lost all our matches (Quite embarrassing since we were hosting). As disheartening as this experience was, Karl never gave up on me and our partnership. We agreed to give it one more shot and eventually went undefeated in the La Union Pickleball Cup, claiming the Gold in the Advanced 18+ Mens Division.

Throughout our partnership, I noticed how caring and genuine Karl is. Karl always gives his 100%, in competition and while coaching. I also noticed that he takes used shoes and paddles back to his home province of Asingan for kids that are playing barefoot with wood paddles. Most importantly, I felt the same passion and desire to support people in their pickleball journey. Inspired by the giving spirit we share, I realized that we are called to do more and that I can collect equipment in SoCal to provide to the provinces.

This is where First Serve became a reality. After winning Gold in ELYU, Karl introduced me to a kid in need of shoes and l gave him the pair that I competed with that day. @firstserve.ph is our mission to Bring Pickleball to Everyone.

Finally, after almost a year in the Philippines, I found that my purpose is to First Serve the communities who have all the talent and passion to grow, but are in need of equipment to safely enjoy the game.

You can help us Bring Pickleball to Everyone by donating shoes, paddles and bags to Karl and I. Send us a DM for inquiries now, but we will soon have a form for you to fill out to make donations smoother. Let’s go make a difference! by @thepickleballjedi

Let your kids be part of the fastest-growing sport on the planet. 🚀🏓

Less screen time, more dink time. Our junior clinic at Pickle Techie Center is officially open, but heads up: slots are intentionally tiny so every child gets top-level attention.

What makes this different? Our coaches aren’t just certified instructors — they are the best tournament players in the region. Your child learns winning technique straight from the pros who dominate the court.

⚡ Limited slots — once it’s full, it’s full.

I support @selkirklabsbyselkirk as much as I can because the company itself is more community focused than other brands. Now with the Boomstick they really have a paddle that is at the top. @thepickleballjedi goes with the elongated and I opt for the wide body.

🇵🇭 vlogging this new journey that I am so blessed to start!

As I left home, I wondered how my life would change and what would be waiting for me on the road ahead. My mind goes to these 3 goals/challenges.

1. Staying Present
I tend to get distracted and lose focus. I need to keep stacking on my momentum and rebounding when I slip up. I am working on being present and staying in the process on and off the court.

2. Community and Competition
I want to meet new people and compete at the highest level. I am naturally shy and not intensely competitive. The language barrier is an obstacle that I can overcome with practice and everyone here is kindly helping me! I love social play and teaching newcomers but I also need to find a competitive edge to win.

3. Have Fun
This is the most important for me. Pickleball really brings me joy and I seek to share that with new players everyday.
I mean if you’re not doing what you love, what are you doing? I feel like the best version of myself when I am training hard and learning new things. I am grateful for everything that has led me here and excited for the challenges to come.

I will do my best to have weekly updates but follow along on TikTok for more clips:)
