Team USA 2026!🇺🇸

🥇 in 15K Elimination
🥈 in 10k Points (National Record) and 1 lap
🍫 in 10k Elimination and 100m
6th or 7th in everything else

Over the last few days, I competed for a spot on Team USA and completed one of the best comebacks of my career. I raced with heart and determination, knowing this could be one of the last times I would ever be on the track.

After a disappointing selection in 2025, I thought I would never skate again. I hated it. I couldn’t even look at my skates without wanting to cry. I cried for weeks and experienced the worst depression of my life. As time went on, I started going to practice just to watch. Eventually, I began skating once or twice a week just for fun. With barely any training, I decided I needed to get into shape for a clinic and a marathon last October, although I truly didn’t start training until November. I knew I had a long road ahead of me, but my fitness came back quickly. I found joy in training again, learned how to properly fuel my body, and we even built a team of 30+ skaters who cheer me on at every practice. When I decided I was going to give it one last try this year, I knew making the team was possible. I just didn’t know how I would match up against everyone else or if winning any races was even possible. This year had its ups and downs. I struggled with some health and mental health issues, but we figured it out and kept moving forward. The track portion of the championships was hard. I almost lost hope. There were moments when I truly thought I wasn’t going to make the selection. I knew I had put in countless hours of work, and I just needed to show it. Now, I can say that I am a National Champion for the first time in 10 years, I hold a National Record, and I secured the 2nd distance spot on Team USA.

Thank you to my coaches, my teammates, my family and friends! I love you all and really felt the most support this year unlike ever before! @soflo_skating

$TBT to almost 2 weeks ago when I won the 15K Elimination Race at Nationals! Then I proceeded to do 3 celebrations because even though I had always dreamed of it, I never expected to win a national title. 🥹 This journey has been nothing short of unpredictable. From fracturing my back, dealing with a serious concussion, and battling pneumonia, all over the last 2 almost 3 years, I just wanted to be back in the mix after struggling for what felt like forever. Moments like this make me love sports—not because I won, but because I surprised myself. The work I put in showed, and my journey speaks for itself. This moment was so sweet because, as I crossed the line, I felt every emotion from the past 3 years. The young girl who was bullied for not being the fastest on the team. The girl who tried her best to skate through the back pain. The girl who was told to take another month off because of her concussion. The girl who showed up on days when she didn’t want to be alive. It’s all for her. I’m so happy I was able to accomplish this. Thank you to God and everyone around me who helped me get here. 🙏🏻 September is National Suicide Prevention Month. I wore this suit to represent my own mental health struggles and everyone else’s, because your mental health matters. Winning in a suit from my own brand, with these words across my chest, made the moment even more full-circle and magical. ✨ #inlinespeedskating #inlineskating #patinaje by @thepipeskates$

World Skate Games 2026…🌎🇵🇾

What might have been my last worlds for a while…

I finally arrived home from Paraguay yesterday, and as I sit here and reflect on the trip, I’m left with mixed emotions.

In the first few days, I felt great in practice. Then, 4 days before racing started, I found out my grandpa was in the hospital and wasn’t doing well. I was mentally a mess after finding this out. I didn’t hear any updates on my grandpa until I got home yesterday, when I found out he had actually passed away.💔🕊️

Track racing started, and unfortunately, I wasn’t given the opportunity to compete in either of the distance races on track. Luckily I was given the opportunity to compete in the relay. The race was super fun, and I was happy with the results! We did not qualify for the final, but we ended up 7th overall. What is crazy was we had the 3rd-fastest time of all the heats. Unfortunately, only two teams could qualify from each heat.

Road racing started, and I was looking forward to it because I was supposed to compete in my best races, the 10K points and the 15K elimination. After seeing the track conditions, I was super disappointed. Then, it was announced that they were canceling the road races. The next day, they decided to put the races back on. Ultimately, I decided not to race because the conditions were too unsafe. No athlete should have to risk their own health because of unsafe track conditions at the highest level in our sport.

I tried to compete in the marathon, but the course was too rough. It was also dangerous, so 1/3 of the way through, I decided not to finish it.😩

Now I’m left saying goodbye to my junior years. It’s so bittersweet because I know it could’ve been more than what it was. Though I’m upset I didn’t compete on the road, I still stand behind my decision to be safe rather than sorry. I hope World Skate can do better in the future.

Thank you to everyone who’s been with me on this journey: my coaches, my parents, my friends, and my teammates!❤️

I also want to say how proud I am to be a part of Team USA. We are on the rise!🇺🇸
