Round 1: Giant Slayers

Spooky Season is Upon Us! 👻
This post-practice hydration table with @alabamafbl was fun. We merged themes: Halloween and defeating our upcoming opponent. Stay hydrated friends! #RollTide by @thepreferredrd

I’ve really contemplated posting this because it requires a level of vulnerability that I don’t always share. However, it’s National Nutrition Month, and the perfect opportunity to remind everyone (myself included) that even being a Registered Dietitian doesn’t make us exempt from the everyday challenges of reaching and maintaining optimal health and weight status. This why I’m passionate about what I do!

Everyday I ask God, “help me be the answer to a problem”. I’ve never fit the status quo of what people think an RD should be, but it allows me to “be an answer”.

My personal journey is why I trust the science behind nutrition and the evidence-based research. It’s why I’m able to take a holistic approach ensuring I practice with empathy and cultural competence. It’s the reason I’ll invest hours into creating individualized meal plans and will always extend grace to a client/athlete when they veer off track. I’ve had to extend that same grace to myself countless times.

I’m so grateful for the gift of having a career where passion and purpose collide. It’s so rewarding to know I’m making an impact in the lives of my athletes and becoming an answer to my own problems in the process 🤍 by @thepreferredrd

As we prepare for the LSU v. Bama football game today, I’m reflecting on the past 2 years and this moment feels surreal. God opened the door at two elite SEC athletic programs and I’ve been widely accepted and valued by the athletes and staff at both schools (beyond what I ever imagined).

Just so there’s no confusion, its all about my Bama Boys (special s/o Swarm D) today

This is who I’m ROLLIN’ with! Here’s to the 2024 football season and a new chapter of my career. I truly enjoy what I do, serving the student-athletes of Alabama Football as a Sports RD, and working with our amazing staff.

When they say God must have a sense of humor, I say God knows best. I never imagined myself in crimson red, but these past 2 months have been so rewarding; I can’t wait to see what else is in store!

Cheers to an incredible 2 years (with some of the most amazing people)! I’m grateful for the experience I had as a Performance Nutrition Fellow. Words can’t express how much it meant, but I’ll always cherish the relationships and memories. [Ephesians 2:10] 💜💛 #LPLG #ForeverLSU by @thepreferredrd

This was such a fun surprise! I honestly wish I would’ve set up a camera to capture the team’s reaction as each athlete walked in. The grazing table was a great way to help with food fatigue towards the end of the season…and it’s just cute☺️!!! #DealUsIn by @thepreferredrd

Fajita Friday was a success with LSU Volleyball! They perfected their basic knife skills while preparing fajitas, guacamole, and pico de gallo. We tailored it for vegan and non-dairy diets and had so much FUN in the kitchen. 👩‍🍳

Attended my first Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA) Annual Conference. I met so many great people! The highlights for me were the BIPOC Meet-up and touring the Vikings facility.

I’m grateful to have leaders who value these opportunities and a department that is committed to bringing out the best in our student-athletes and each other.

LSU Tigers still setting trends…here’s to my Spice Girls 🌶️ & the Tajin Magic!✨

And I especially loved this s/o from my coach 🥰 by @thepreferredrd

Did you know National Registered Dietitian Day is celebrated every year on the second Wednesday in March?? This year I got to share what brings me the most joy & fulfillment as a Sports RD (& to be working at my alma mater makes it all the more special) 💜💛 #ForeverLSU #registereddietitian #nutritionanddietetics #representation #diversityindietetics by @thepreferredrd

‘Tis the season…wishing you all much joy & cheer! (SN:: Thank goodness I’ve grown to embrace the holiday spirit lol) by @thepreferredrd
