I failed 13 standardized tests before I scored an 800 on the NPTE.

If you’re failing practice exams and quietly wondering whether you should keep going, this one’s for you.

None of these truths came from a textbook. I lived every one of them, including sitting on a bench crying because I didn’t think I’d ever get here.

Truth 4 is the one nobody says out loud.

Truth 9 is the one most people refuse to try.

If you’re retaking the NPTE and it feels like you’re doing everything right and still coming up short, it’s probably not a knowledge problem. It’s how you’re approaching the test.

👇 Comment the number of the truth that hit hardest.

📩 DM me “TRUTH” if you’re done doing this alone. I’ll send you where I’d start if I were retaking it today.

Save this for the next time a practice score makes you want to quit.

Stop studying every medication…the NPTE loves these specific ones. 💊

These five come up constantly and they can be asked a bunch of different ways.

DM me MEDS and I’ll send you the 5 in this video and 5 others that they like.

2,000 questions. Still stuck in the 570s. 👇

If you're sitting at 62–65% no matter how many questions you do, read this twice.

More questions doesn't mean a higher score. You can practice the wrong way for months and nothing changes.

Here's the trap: you treat every miss like a content gap. So you read the rationale. Learn more content. Read more. Repeat.

But content isn't your problem. The real leak never gets fixed.

Try this tonight. Do 20 questions and sort every miss into a pile:
1️⃣ Didn't know it
2️⃣ Misread it
3️⃣ Changed it
4️⃣ Ran out of time

Your biggest pile is your plan. 🔥

Save this for your next practice block.

Still can't tell exactly why your score is stuck? Comment QUIZ and I'll send you my diagnostic quiz!!

I failed 13 standardized tests. Then I scored an 800 on the NPTE. 👇

The same test-day playbook got me a 796 on my OCS. Testing this week? Here are the 8 moves:

1️⃣ Move your body the day before. Lift, run, sweat. You'll actually fall asleep (just nothing new that leaves you sore)
2️⃣ Fuel your brain
• Day before: salmon or chicken, big spinach salad, sweet potato or brown rice, lots of water
• Morning of: wheat pancakes/waffles or an egg-white omelet + whole-wheat toast
• Break: EAT, even if you don't feel like it
3️⃣ Zero decisions. Keys, ID, outfit, breakfast, break food laid out the night before
4️⃣ Don't wake up 3 hours early. Arrive 30 min early, not more
5️⃣ Confidence hack: hair, nails, the fit you feel great in (or baggy warm layers, test centers run cold)
6️⃣ Your calm ritual on the drive
7️⃣ Book your reward TODAY
8️⃣ Sit down. One deep breath. Go. The longer you sit there, the more anxiety creeps in.

Testing tomorrow? Save this and run it tonight 📌

Comment PLAYBOOK and I'll send you my full test-day checklist!!

You get to REMOVE 2 of these from your NPTE. Which 2 are you removing?? 👇

1️⃣ Peds
2️⃣ EKG
3️⃣ Meds
4️⃣ PFTs
5️⃣ Research
6️⃣ Wound Care

Drop your 2 numbers in the comments. No explaining yourself. Okay... explain yourself a little 😂

Tag the classmate who would remove Research before they even finish reading this!!

NPTE prep is the best money you'll ever spend in PT school. Change my mind. 👇

A lot of us look at the NPTE like an annoyance. "I worked my tail off for 3 years. I should just pass this thing. Why would I pay for prep?"

I get it. But passing is on us. Not our school. Not our professors. Us. It's the most important exam we'll ever take. Without it, we can't practice. Period. Here's my case:

1️⃣ You're sitting on a $140K car with no keys.
DPT tuition and fees alone average $74K (public, in-state) to $124K (private) per CAPTE. Recent grads carry about $142K in student debt (APTA). Without boards, that degree is a car in the driveway you can't drive. Passing IS the key. Prep isn't extra. It's insurance on a six-figure investment.

2️⃣ Failing has a price tag.
New grad PTs make roughly $70-85K. Call it $6,700 a month. The NPTE only runs 4 times a year, so one fail usually means about 3 more months without a PT paycheck. That's around $20,000 gone. Add $600+ to retake ($485 FSBPT + $112 Prometric + state fees). And in many states, a temporary permit is void the moment you fail.

3️⃣ The loans don't wait.
Federal loans give you 6 months of grace, and interest builds the whole time. At ~8% on $142K, that's about $950 a month in interest alone. Fail once and you're deferring, stressing, and watching that number grow while your classmates start their careers.

4️⃣ The stress costs you too.
The embarrassment. Telling your family. Re-studying the same material while everyone posts their first day. FSBPT caps you at 6 attempts. Lifetime. That weight is real, and you can't put a price on getting your peace back.

5️⃣ The math isn't close.
At $80K a year, a PT makes about $1,500 a week. Even a $4,000 prep program pays for itself in under 3 weeks of working as a licensed PT. One avoided fail saves you about $20K.

So I'll say it again: NPTE prep is the best money you'll spend in PT school.

If I took the NPTE tomorrow, this is my dump sheet. 📝

1️⃣ My why: "Be anxious for nothing. Walk by faith, not by sight."
2️⃣ Labs: Hgb, platelets, INR normal ranges
3️⃣ Cranial nerves III, V, VII, IX, XII
4️⃣ Pressure injury stages
5️⃣ ASIA C vs D
6️⃣ Dermatomes: L3, L4, L5, C6, C7
7️⃣ Glides: thumb CMC + calcaneus

Heads up: you can't write during the tutorial. Your dump comes out of exam time, so practice it until it takes 2 minutes. ⏱️

Save this for test week 📌

This PEAT went from a 520 to a 617 in 21 days… and it wasn't more content 👀

First PEAT: 18, 21, 25, 21, 23 correct per section. A 7-question swing. 21 days later: 28, 28, 25, 25, 26. All within 3.

That's section stability. When your sections bounce, I look at 5 things first:
1️⃣ Test-taking skill
2️⃣ Overthinking
3️⃣ Fatigue
4️⃣ Anxiety
5️⃣ Changing answers

For Ashley it was second-guessing. We fixed HOW she read the question, her sections tightened up, and her score jumped. And we're not done yet 🔥

Get your sections stable first, then chase your optimal score 📌

Comment REPORT and I'll break down your PEAT with you and show you what it'll take to pass!!

Individual results vary. PT Hustle is not affiliated with the FSBPT.

Lab values on the NPTE aren't a memory test. They're a SAFETY test 🩸

The exam isn't asking what's normal. It's asking what to DO.

5 to know cold:
1️⃣ Hemoglobin: under 8 g/dL = no gait
2️⃣ Platelets: under 20K = AROM + ADLs only
3️⃣ WBC: low + fever = no exercise
4️⃣ Glucose: under 70 = treat the hypo. Over 250 + ketones = hold treatment
5️⃣ INR: normal ~1, therapeutic 2–3

Save this for your next study block 📌

Comment LABS and I'll send you the full Lab Values Cheat Sheet!!

Two people. Same 570. Completely different reasons.

One is missing content. The other knows it and is bleeding points to second-guessing and block-4 fatigue.

Same study plan = same score. Diagnose first, then study.

I'm taking 30 seats for January. Apply at the link in my bio.
