What's does it mean if someone is "pre-licensed"? by @therapy.and.joy

✨🪩My schedule is open!!! It's been so fulfilling to watch clients graduate and take on life, which means I have reopened my availability to take on new clients! Therapists often get asked this question and we answer in clinical verbiage, but i hate that ! To be a client is to be seen, not for clinical jargon, but for what we're going thru as humans! So here's my real human answer ◡̈ by @therapy.and.joy

All the things i didnt know as a client or even in school.... but here we are!! -- love the idea of having more convo about the business side of this field, and connecting with local grads to share more info; so if youre local and wanna know more, DM me! Lets get a coffee and chat about what school isnt telling you by @therapy.and.joy

Not ur local solution focused therapist! But - I will ask about your childhood, your values, where you learned them, what you believe about love and relationships, how you show up behind your principles, and on and on! by @therapy.and.joy

Shoutout to my psychiatrist ! *these are my own opinions and things that work for me! Information shared is NOT medical advice and should not be treated as such! 🫶 by @therapy.and.joy

I mean.... yeah? maybe? but not really? by @therapy.and.joy

Of course, questions vary based on the circumstance and concern but i'm typically looking for a few things:
1. Is there a past experience related to this?
2. What's the fear or core belief about self?
3. How are you protecting yourself from this coming true?
4. What's the meaning that's being placed beyond the situation/thing/person?

Being curious helps me as a therapist understand the operations that's occurring subconsciously, AND hopefully helps clients be able to better understand themselves in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. by @therapy.and.joy

Always happy to send referrals!
Not every fit is the best fit and that's okay! I'll check with clients after a few sessions and see how they're feeling. If it vibes, great! If not, let me help you get connected with someone you might feel is better aligned. Everyone wants and needs something different! by @therapy.and.joy

Last slide for my favorite part of running!
