POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s release day!
In the past, for me, releasing new music has been fraught with high anxiety and worry about chart positions, radio spins, DSP adds and the like and I’ve gotta say it feels so good today to just be releasing music into the world without expectation. Truly.
Art for art’s sake.
A song with its only purpose being that it finds those who may need it.
“The Lighthouse”, for my Father.

I’m entirely grateful for the process of making it, the healing it has brought me and for this opportunity to let it be released into the world.
I’m grateful for the song itself which (I think), is simple, without frills and honest.
I’m grateful that Finley (14) & August (12) were able to have their first ever studio experience playing cello and violin on a piece that connects them with their Grandfather forever, that will live on as a moment in time they can go back and draw from.
A while ago I decided to choose a different relationship with music and releases, and what that would look like going forward and today marks the first of many independent releases to come and I gotta say, it feels very liberating. Even though I’m making loads of mistakes as I go, I’m learning and growing through the process and ready for the challenges ahead. (Thank you for your patience, sweet friend, Pepper Meiler).
Special thanks to: David Axelrod,
Billy Nobel, Sam Hunter, Chris Autry for sharing their incredible musical gifts on this track and letting me execute my vision for it, in a fun, inspiring, stress-free way. Your level of musicianship is never lost on me.
Thank you David Axelrod for your patience and friendship, and for holding a thoughtful, sacred, safe space for me every time I came in to the studio, knowing what I was dealing with at the time.
Thank you Rusty Gaston for your mentoring and advice - always.
Thank you Mark, Finley & August for your encouragement, love and support. I’m off to cheers myself with a ginger mocktail! Listen at link in bio 🩷🙏🏻✨🤗 by @therealoshea

What an example to us all on how to truly live. How to use what God has given you to benefit humanity. How to bring people together. How to leave the world a better place than you found it. How to help change people's lives... We are shatteredd, sad and in shock 💔 But at the same time feel blessed, grateful and honored to be part of her enduring legacy that is the #DollyPartonImaginationLibrary that will continue for generations to come! There will never be another @dollyparton but there will be millions of children who discover the joy of books, the love of reading and a world of possibility because she was here.

What a life. What a lady. What a legacy. RIP Dolly ❤️ by @therealoshea
