That Lambo? It wasn't bought with a diploma. It was earned with hustle, strategy, and relentless execution. College teaches theory. The real world rewards results. Stop waiting for permission, start building your empire today. by @therealparkermccumber

Retirement isn’t just about a number. It’s about what that number produces. What does it generate annually? What kind of life does that support? That’s how you know if you’re actually prepared. by @therealparkermccumber

I used to spend hundreds of dollars every time I recorded a podcast episode.

$150 an hour for a videographer. Another $150 an hour for an editor, and a one-hour episode never took just one hour to edit. That’s before renting a studio, which around here usually starts at $150 an hour too.

So I did what a lot of founders do and decided to just buy the gear.

Good cameras run about $5,000 each, and you need more than one if you want an angle on your guest. Then microphones. Then sound dampening. Then editing software. Then the hours it takes to learn all of it. I was pouring money and time into production that should have gone into my business, and the content still didn’t look the way I wanted.

That’s why I purchased Rookery Studios in Orem.

You show up and record. We handle the rest. Three 4K camera angles, professional video editing, audio engineering, and four rooms built for different looks, from the clean, minimal Polar Room to the classic Study Room. If you want, we’ll also cut your episode into clips and manage your social media for you.

One hour in the studio can easily turn into a month of content. Your expertise, on camera, looking like it belongs next to anyone in your industry.

For most of our clients the math is simple. A social media manager and a videographer will run you over $50,000 a year, plus the equipment. Walk in and one off recordings are $300. Memberships start at $997/mo. Our top membership including 8 hours of studio time, social media management, and all clips, edits, etc is $2k/mo with a discount to pay in full, and the rooms and gear are already here.

No big upfront cost to you.

This is built for owners and founders doing $250k a year or more who know they should be putting out content but don’t have time to become a production company.

If that’s you, send me a message and I’ll get you in for a tour of the studio.

Every hour you spend doing $10 work is an hour you're not spending on $1,000 opportunities. Look at your calendar.

How much time goes toward admin, scheduling, and routine tasks? How much goes toward managing projects your team could own? And how much goes toward the work that actually moves your business forward? by @therealparkermccumber

Pick a day this week. Don't answer for a day. Count how many decisions wait for you.

That number is your list of unwritten limits.

Which decision waited on you this week? Tell me below. by @therealparkermccumber

I draw on 15 years of military leadership and my last decade in business and entrepreneurship.

What I do is build military-inspired leadership systems, so people can make sound calls even when the owner isn't in the room.

What's one leadership habit you wish someone had handed you on day one? by @therealparkermccumber

If it's not fun, I'm not doing it.

That's one of the operating rules in my companies, and it's in Chapter 5 of my book.

It doesn't mean business is always easy. It means misery is not a business model. When a process is constantly painful, it's often broken. When a team is burned out, leadership needs to look in the mirror.

The goal isn't to avoid hard things. It's to build something worthwhile with people you respect, in a way that leaves room for your life.

What's one process in your business that's constantly painful? Tell me below. by @therealparkermccumber

You will never feel ready. I stopped waiting for it.

Standing next to owners far ahead of me, I felt insignificant. Coach, expert and authority felt like other people's words.

Then they asked me to present. I walked up scared.

The feeling of being ready was never coming first. The proof comes first. The belief follows.

What are you waiting to feel ready for? Tell me in the comments.
Save this for the day you talk yourself out of it. by @therealparkermccumber

Want to find the right audience? Start with your best clients.

Find what all of them had in common. It might be demographics, mindset, philosophy or the services they received. Then build an offer around that, and message the people who fit.

For example, I speak straight to owners who feel bottlenecked. Tired of managers bringing you questions every day they should be able to answer? That's a leadership bottleneck. Intent wasn't transferred, or they didn't feel empowered to answer.

When people see themselves in the pain point, you know you have the right audience.

What do your best clients have in common? by @therealparkermccumber

What's one thing your team does well that should never change?

The military taught me that every mission is an opportunity to improve. That's why we conduct After Action Reviews. We compare what was supposed to happen with what actually happened, identify improvements, and recognize what worked. Then we take those lessons into the next mission.

The same principle applies to business. Your team should be getting better every time you execute. by @therealparkermccumber

No plan survives first contact. The Army teaches that as doctrine, and it's the reason your team of five still can't make a decision without you.

Here's what's actually happening at a million a year. You wrote the process. Maybe you even wrote the SOPs. Then a customer asks for something the SOP doesn't cover, or a vendor misses a shipment, or a refund request comes in that's technically against policy but obviously the right call. The plan just met reality, and your team's only move is to ask you.
That's not a bad team. That's a team that knows your steps but not your intent.

Intent is two things. Why the task exists, and what done looks like. Try it on one process this week. Instead of "respond to every customer ticket within 24 hours," tell them "we answer fast because we'd rather lose a refund than lose a repeat customer, and done means they'd recommend us to a friend." Now when the ticket doesn't fit the script, they still know what you'd want.

Do that across your five or six core processes and most of the decisions stop coming back to you. You didn't hire people to run your checklist. You hired them to think, and intent is what lets them.

I teach military leadership frameworks to founders and business owners every week. Follow along, then DM me INTENT and I'll send you the format I use to write it.
