Some weddings don’t just get photographed — they’re felt ~

Standing quietly in the quiet moments, watching two people choose each other in a way that feels deeply intentional, always stops me in my tracks. Being invited into these spaces — the nerves, the calm, the intimacy — is something I never take lightly. It’s a privilege. Every single time.

This is why I’m so drawn to elopements and intimate weddings here in the Okanagan. The light, the stillness, the tucked-away places that feel like they exist just for you. No rush. No performance. Just presence, connection, and a day that actually feels like you.

If your dream wedding is less about tradition and more about meaning — I see you. And I would be so honoured to witness it. ✨ by @theresaeaster_photographer

The light, the feeling, the way a woman carries new life — this is something I get to preserve forever !!

I want more moms in front of my camera ♥️

This wasn’t just a grad session. It was a love letter to the Okanagan — and to a chapter of life that’s coming to a close. She showed up in a blush ballgown, on the most breathtaking property above Kelowna, with the horse she’s known since they were both young. And somewhere between the golden light and that view of the whole valley, I remembered that this is exactly what these sessions are for. Not just the pretty dress but the feeling of standing at the edge of everything you’ve known — and everything you’re about to become and documenting it 🌅✨congrats A!! by @theresaeaster_photographer

Weddings move fast. One minute you’re getting ready, the next you’re being introduced as married — and so much of what happens in between is a blur until you see it again through someone else’s eyes.

That’s the part people don’t talk about enough. Not the planning, not the logistics — the way a whole day can pass in what feels like an hour, and how much of it you only get to fully experience after.

That’s the quiet weight of choosing a photographer. It’s not just about pretty pictures. It’s about trusting someone to notice what you couldn’t — to hand you back a version of the day you didn’t even know you missed.

However your day unfolds, it deserves someone who’s paying that kind of attention.

🤍 I’d love to work with you. If this resonates, or you’re looking for someone who pays attention to the in-between moments comment WEDDING below if you want more info ♥️ by @theresaeaster_photographer

This session was full of quiet moments — hand holding, foreheads together, the smile before a kiss. The kind of connection that doesn’t need direction, just space to happen ! 💕

Grateful I get to capture this couple year after year. 🤍 by @theresaeaster_photographer

Have you ever realized you don’t want a “traditional” wedding — but don’t quite know what you want instead?

I’ve been photographing weddings in the Okanagan for 10+ years, and I’ve got lots of ideas for elopement locations, micro weddings, and full-day celebrations. Plus, I work with amazing local vendors to make your day feel effortless and truly yours.

I’ll never get tired of photographing people in good light ✨ ✨

Whether it’s a wedding day, a family session, or a quiet corner of a plant shop —
it’s always about the way light wraps around a person

This felt like magic

I love how much women are capable of.

We build businesses. Raise families. Love people deeply. Remember the appointments, send the texts, make the plans and somehow notice the little things nobody else does.

That’s one of the things I love most about women. We’re incredibly multifaceted. We can hold so much, care so deeply and show up in so many different parts of our lives.

And I think we deserve to be just as intentional about showing up for ourselves.

Because taking time for yourself doesn’t have to be something you finally do when you’ve reached your limit.

Sometimes it can simply be because you matter too.

That’s what I love about the work I do.

For a little while, you get to lie down and receive. You get to have someone else pay attention to you.

Nothing needs to be accomplished.

You simply get to be the woman being cared for.

And there’s something pretty powerful about that. 🤎

Getting to care for a woman whose own work is about celebrating women really fills my cup.

There’s something pretty special about women using what they do to care for, encourage and support other women.

And I think we need more of that. 🤎
