Meet painter Theresia Malaise @theresiamalaise , featured at @halfofvenus, whose work is now available exclusively through our online gallery. Theresia Malaise (Antwerp, Belgium) develops her pictorial practice from a life experience marked by displacement, observation, and constant searching. After twelve years of travel, her work is currently situated in a Mediterranean environment, where the studio is configured as a space of continuity within that journey. Painting operates as a place of temporary permanence, from which to reflect. She studied art both in Belgium and Spain and combines painting with teaching. Ahora esas observaciones empiezan a producir método. Each painting of this series begins in a specific place I’ve crossed. They’re not descriptions of the landscape, but translations of what it felt like to be there. I walk through territories, observing and absorbing what surrounds me. My body becomes a device for perception, measurement, and memory. . . . . #PaintingCollectors #ContemporaryPainter #ModernPainting #ContemporaryArt #ContemporaryPainting by @theresiamalaise
