Come make a simple, kid friendly autumn bucket list with us! 🍂 I wanted to create something simple that would give us a reason to slow down, get outside, relive our favorite traditions, and make a few really good memories together this season. It’s my favorite time of year, but it’s also one of the busiest. This is the way I can actually look back on our time and see how much we got to do together! Let me know your favorite autumn tradition below! 🍁 #thesacredandordinary #intentionalliving #intentionalmotherhood by @thesacredandordinary
You don’t always need another to do list- but maybe instead you need an “I DID” list I started making a list at the end of the day showing myself everything I DID get done in a day on the days I felt burnt out and or like I didn’t get anything done- not to be more productive, but to give myself more grace and notice all the little things I’d normally overlook. The meals I made, the questions I answered, the conversations, the showing up when I was tired, the keeping tiny humans alive (and some plants) and entertained, they all count in our day. So I made a free printable for it- with space for “I DID, I AM, I HAVE”. What you accomplished, what is true about you, and what you’re grateful for. It’s free on my blog 🤍 or comment “I DID” and I’ll send you the link! #thesacredandordinary #intentionalmotherhood #intentionalliving by @thesacredandordinary
What if hope is something we choose anyway? Six years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It was one of the darkest and most disorienting seasons of my life. And somehow, in the middle of it, God gave us a friend who understood. Her name was Jane. I knew Jane personally through her brother Mitch, our dear friend. I met Jane just weeks before my dad’s diagnosis, and when everything changed for our family, Jane became someone who helped us navigate our new world. We would see her at treatment, FaceTime with her, and talk through the things only someone who was living it could really understand. Though my father passed away shortly after, I will always remember the sacred spaces of those who were there for us in that time. Then, in 2021, the whole world met Jane “Nightbirde.” She stepped onto the stage of America’s Got Talent, sang It’s OK, and received the Golden Buzzer while fighting cancer herself. But what I remember most is the hope she shared. Jane had this incredible ability to acknowledge how hard life was without allowing the hard parts to have the final word. She said: “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.” Jane passed away the following year. But I don’t believe her story ended there. Three years ago, we created the Nightbirde Walking Club as a way to honor Jane, support the Nightbirde foundation that her family made in her honor, and bring that same message of hope to women who are walking through cancer today. Every October, we walk one mile a day to raise money for Gifts of Hope : boxes of encouragement for women just like Jane. This year’s theme is: HOPE ANYWAY. Because sometimes all you can do is take the next step. And sometimes hope is the most rebellious thing to do. So this October, I’m walking. And I’d love for you to walk with me. You can join my team: SOULSTEPPERS- We are so proud to share this collection with you and I’m honored to be a part of it. For Jane. For my dad. For the women still fighting. And for all of us who are still moving forward. Click the link in my profile to learn more or go to nightbirdewalkingclub.com #nightbirdewalkingclub #nightbirdefoundation by @thesacredandordinary
Welcome to The Sacred & Ordinary. 🤍 This is part of my story of what I’m learning in the middle of motherhood. That a meaningful life isn’t always built in big, extraordinary moments, but sometimes around a kitchen table, in the middle of laundry, spilled coffee, or a homeschool lesson. The sacred spaces of life happen through a meal shared with friends, in the laughter of my children, In the small sacrifices nobody sees. After seasons of loss, change, motherhood, and transformations, I’ve begun to see these ordinary moments differently. Call it a blog, journal, or a love letter to my kids- this is a place to discover together and share the things- from practical to theological (and everything in between) that have helped me and hopefully help you too. And I’m so glad you’re here. I’d love to know what are you learning in this season of your life? #TheSacredAndOrdinary #ChristianMotherhood #IntentionalMotherhood #MotherhoodJourney #IntentionalLiving by @thesacredandordinary
After a long weekend working, I love to use the timer method to give myself my peace and Home back in as little as 30 minutes to set the tone of the day in our home. ⏳ Just five minutes a space while my kiddos play goes along way 🙌 Some days within the next hour, it’s back to square one but reminding myself that even if it feels some days like I’m on a hamster wheel cleaning the same spaces it’s an opportunity to love my home, pray over it, and bless my family back- and allow us more time to get to do the things we love the most. 🫶🏼 #homehacks #resetyourhome #homeschoolingmom #motherhoodinspired by @thesacredandordinary
