The holidays can bring up so much when you’re grieving. Sometimes it’s missing someone, sometimes it’s how different life looks now, and sometimes it’s feelings you weren’t expecting.

On November 22, I’m offering Finding Your Way Through the Holidays, a one-time online grief circle through The Support Space.

We’ll make room for what’s coming up, talk about what might help, and connect with others navigating loss. Different kinds of loss are welcome. You can share or simply listen-there’s no pressure.

Grief is hard enough. Finding support that actually feels right for you shouldn’t be.

Whether you’re looking for someone to talk to one-on-one, a small group of people who understand your loss, or just some practical support as you navigate life after loss, this is what I’m here for.

There is no right way to grieve and you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

If you’re looking for support, reach out anytime or visit the link in my bio.

It’s okay to talk about it.

Something I’ve experienced a lot since the loss of my mom is people either not bringing up the elephant in the room, or bringing it up and then saying, “Sorry, I don’t want to make you upset.”

The reality is, we want you to talk about our person.

When you talk about our loved one, it isn’t reminding us that they died-we live with that every hour of every day.

Instead, hearing their name is a reminder that they lived 💗

Today, on All Souls Day, we remember and pray for those who have gone before us. May they rest in eternal peace.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.

This keeps coming up a lot in many different ways…continuing ed, groups. I invite you to think it through for yourself. Are you really pissed off because of the rising price of groceries or because the kids didn’t pick up the clothes ? Perhaps beneath that frustration is really anger because your person is dead? #griefsupport #griefeducator #lifeafterloss #motherloss anger by @thesupportspaceco

You don’t have to be falling apart to seek grief support.

You can be going to work, caring for your family, and doing everything you normally do while still carrying a lot of grief. Sometimes, you simply need a dedicated space to talk about your person, your feelings, and what you’re navigating without having to minimize or explain where you are.

That’s what I offer through one-on-one grief support sessions at The Support Space. It’s not about fixing your grief. It’s about having someone walk alongside you as you navigate it.

Sometimes we try so hard to hold it all together that we don’t allow ourselves to really feel what we’re carrying. But those feelings need somewhere to go, too. We can let ourselves feel the hard things without losing sight of the good. And even on the hardest days, hope is still there, sometimes just buried beneath it all.

Grief doesn’t always look loud and obvious with tears, talking, or strong outward emotions .

Sometimes it looks like silence. Avoiding certain conversations. Scrolling or even walking past old photos. Keeping busy because slowing down feels too uncertain.

That doesn’t mean you aren’t grieving. It may mean you’re protecting yourself from more pain than you’re ready to handle right now.

Avoidance can be a necessary form of survival. But over time, it can also keep us disconnected from the feelings, memories, and support that may help us heal.

There is no need to force yourself to face everything at once. Healing can begin gently with one honest conversation, one memory, or one moment of allowing yourself to feel whatever it is that’s coming up.

You are allowed to move at your own pace and there’s no right way to grieve.

Sometimes the hardest part of carrying grief is finding the words to speak of it.

We tuck things away, tell ourselves we’ll get to them another day, wait for a moment when it might feel easier.

But grief doesn’t always arrive with the right words, and neither do we.

You don’t have to know where to begin to be worthy of a space where you can simply be heard.

If you’ve been longing for a place to bring your grief, I offer individual grief support sessions through The Support Space.

A simple conversation with my kids about Thanksgiving dinner had me thinking about how much meaning we attach to the traditions we create.

The things my mom once did for me, I now find myself doing for my own children. Carrying pieces of her forward while creating memories of our own.

There’s something beautiful, and a little bittersweet, about realizing that the traditions we once looked forward to are now ours to carry.

And sometimes, it’s in these ordinary moments that we feel the weight of someone’s absence and the ways they are still very much a part of our lives.

These are some of the things we’ll be exploring together in Finding Your Way Through the Holidays.

For three and a half years, this bag sat in my closet, just as my mom had left it.

I’d thought about using it so many times, but I don’t have many of her belongings left to go through. And I think part of me just wasn’t ready to go through another one, knowing that eventually there won’t be anything left to discover.

This weekend, I finally decided to use it. I wanted to bring it to a concert with my daughters and friends.

What I didn’t expect was to get a little teary-eyed over a grocery receipt. Such an ordinary thing, but it was a glimpse into a day in her life, just a week before everything changed.

I saved the things I found inside, and I carried her bag with me.

Just one more little piece of her that I get to carry with me.
