POSTS STORIES REELS

Reflecting on an incredible year @thesustainablestudio 🔥

In Jan 2024 we started renovating the ground floor of the old transport club, it was a complete mess but we created a downstairs ground-floor multipurpose space @thecanopicardiff and designed a flexible music venue, exhibition space/ workshops area including a coffee bar!
In the space of 10 months, we’ve already hosted some incredible events, from live music to performances, music videos, theatre, comedy, fashion events, parties, and the list goes on. Also, had the pleasure of meeting some amazing individuals, and making new friends with local people on our doorstep, local businesses and the creative community! 😍

Here’s a chance for us to give gratitude to everyone ( too many to name ) who have been on our crazy adventure this year. It’s gone beyond what we ever expected or imagined. 🙏
Difficult to put how we feel into an Instagram caption and how much we appreciate you all. Still a bit of work to do, but we will always be adding to the space, you know us! 😂

We just need to rewind to the beginning of the year and remind ourselves how we got here!
Take a look at some before and afters of the space and how we flipped it around with amazing help from family & friends.
Too many favourite moments and new faces we’ve met.
Stay tuned to see what comes next in 2025. We look forward to welcoming you into the space. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Wishing you all an HNY 🎊

GOOD ON YOU is a film about inheritance. What we carry from where we come from and how we choose to present it. Style is instinctive, naturally shaped out of everything you were handed.

Three people from three different backgrounds, dressed in pieces that were also something else before.

DA-TI means good on you in Welsh; a phrase you say when something suits a person in a way it would not suit anyone else. Not a compliment about the garment. A compliment about the fit between a person and what they have chosen.

Every piece in the film began as something discarded. Found, taken apart, rebuilt by hand. Clothes with a past, worn by people with one.

GOOD ON YOU is a collaborative project between Oblique Society and Dati Clothing, shot at The Canopi, Cardiff.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💐

Two sisters.
One singer-songwriter, one fashion designer.

We've been running a coworking space for the past 10 years @thesustainable.studio and a year and a half ago we opened @thecanopicardiff music venue, events space and coffee bar.

Built around creativity, community and a lot of amazing people behind the scenes who help make it all happen.

Thanks for being part of the journey, more to come! 💫🙏

A year ago today we presented Hughesvoka to a great audience in Cardiff’s @thesustainable.studio , as part of National Theatre Wales @teamcollectivecymru City Social’s programme.

It was an honour to work as the director on this extraordinary story of loss, hope, home and rebuilding. This play was created by and with people fleeing war, and its frightening and painful to see how relevant the piece and its themes have remained a year on. So much love for the friendships we’ve made, the stories we were able to share, and our fellow creatives in Wales and Ukraine 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇺🇦
