🥟🥟 Celebrated my husband’s birthday at Din Tai Fung — and every bite was perfection!
We came here for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint 😋 The quality, presentation, and flavours were all on point —

Here’s what we ordered 👇
✨ Crab & Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao – rich, juicy, and full of umami goodness.
🥟 Chicken Dumplings – light, tender, and perfectly seasoned.
🌶️ Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons – that chili oil hit just right!
🥬 String Beans with Garlic – crispy, garlicky perfection.
🍜 Shredded Kurobuta Pork Fried Noodles – savoury, comforting, and full of flavour.
🍫 Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao – the perfect sweet ending to celebrate!

Such a delicious and memorable meal — definitely a spot we’ll come back to again! 🥢✨

Nothing brings friends together like grilled meat and good vibes and Galbi Korean BBQ New Westminster @galbibbq brings both in sizzling style 🔥

We’ve been hooked since their Coquitlam days, so naturally, we had to see if the new location lived up to the hype. Spoiler: it did.

🐷 THE BOAR-OMETER - Five Piggies
Great food, great service, and the same warmth that made us fall in love with Galbi in the first place!

Between the crispy 생오겹살 Ohgyeopsal (fresh skin-on pork belly), refreshing 비빔냉면 Bibim Naengmyeon, and endless side dishes, this spot hits all the right notes. Starting Oct 17, Galbi New West is introducing an AYCE menu with 생삼겹살 Samgyupsal (Fresh pork belly) and 돼지갈비 Marinated Pork Short Ribs plus unlimited sides and rice! Pair that with a bottle of soju and you’ve got yourself the perfect night out.

Friendsgiving feast 🧡
Potlucks are always the best — a little bit of everyone’s cooking and a whole lot of love! We had prime rib, mashed potatoes with gravy, two kinds of salad, mac & cheese, cauliflower mac & cheese, and bacon carbonara 😋🍽️ And let’s not forget the sticky toffee pudding that was too good to be pictured 🤭🍮 We’re all so grateful for everyone who was at the table — good food, great friends, and so many laughs 🥂✨

We may have found a gem in the hotpot-by-weight scene — Super Thai Hotpot @superthaihotpotvan And let’s be real — while other hotpot-by-weight places may hog the spotlight, this one surprised us with authentic flavors and a much calmer vibe.

🐷 THE BOAR-OMETER
THREE PIGGIES AND A PIGLET — A solid hotpot fix without the long lines or noise. A flavorful alternative to the favourite chain that won’t break the piggy bank if you play it smart.

The Tom Yum broth had us hooked — sour, spicy, and bold, it’s the closest thing to authentic tom yum we’ve had around in Metro Vancouver. We also went for the White Pepper Chicken and still walked away satisfied. The wall of ingredients had all the fixings: meats, seafood, noodles, fish balls, and veggies. Keep in mind: light greens, a few add-ons, and meat slices and you’ll leave full for under $25 guaranteed!

After watching the Lion King musical 🎭, we stopped by @sunteabc for some bubble tea 🧋. It was our first time trying it and honestly, the drinks were so good! Didn’t expect it to be this good since there aren’t many Suntea locations in Vancouver. They recently took over the old Chatime spot on Hastings & Renfrew, and I think we just found our new bubble tea go-to ✨

Hotpot or BBQ? At Hot Spot Buffet @grill_hotpot , we didn’t have to choose!! For $39.99, you get to pick one, but for just $2.99 more you can have both all-you-can-eat hotpot and BBQ. And let’s just say… we went all in.

🐷 THE BOAR-OMETER: FOUR PIGGIES
It had us grinning ear to ear: flavorful, filling, and fun.

The spread was almost overwhelming in the best way: a wall stacked with fresh meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and more. The pork bone broth was rich, the mala broth brought the spice, and the thick-cut pork belly grilled to perfection had us squealing. On top of that, the hot buffet dishes — like braised pork belly, prawns, and mapo tofu — felt like hidden gems that could stand alone at a restaurant. Dessert was simple (fruit, buns, jelly), but honestly, who had room left? 🐖

We rolled out stuffed and happy, and at this price, it felt like a feast without breaking the piggy bank.

We have gone international! Click the link in our bio for the full review!! ⬆️⬆️ Stopped by SOL Taphouse in Busan last year and honestly, nothing beats pizza + beer with a view of Gwanganri Beach. It's the kind of spot where you come for the view and stay for the vibe.

🐷 THE BOAR-OMETER
THREE PIGGIES AND A PIGLET – Great if you snag a table by the window, but the beachside area is full of options if it’s packed!

What we got:

- Margherita + White Pie pizza slices
Both were solid, cheesy, hits the spot. The crust was so good and I can taste the fire from it!

- Beers: lots of local taps — Koreans definitely know their alcohol. 100% recommend.

We tried Peya @peyayvr — the new spot blending French finesse with Indian flair in Grandview-Woodland — and let’s just say, it’s giving the best of both worlds.

🐷 THE BOAR-OMETER: Four Piggies & a Piglet
Upscale vibes, bold flavors, and cocktails that steal the show.

The highlights? Fig + goat cheese samosa that nailed the sweet-savory balance, mussels in curry-leaf rasam so good we nearly drank it, rabbit biryani that blew us away (not gamey at all, just fragrant perfection), and Cornish hen in butter sauce we licked clean with naan. Dessert sealed the deal with chai crème brûlée and coconut macaron.

And don’t even get me started on the cocktails 🍸 The Innocent Bystander (similar to an old-fashioned with hints of mango & Darjeeling) and Curry Gibson (similar to a martini) weren’t just drinks — they were experiences: smoke, masala onion, caviar… need I say more????

Small & busy but yummy treats 🤤🤤🤤 it's worth the wait even with the lineups!

For Taiyaki: hotteok & pizza taiyaki (unique here!), plus ube and Nutella and classics like red bean & custard.
