It was great to speak with one of our promoter members Rhona MacDonald, Manager at @nairnartscentre, at our recent meet-up in Findhorn.

The Touring Network has helped the Centre build relationships with both promoters and performers, including the legend that is @horsemcd.

Rhona first met Horse at a Touring Network meet-up four years ago, which has led on to Horse performing a number of hugely successful shows and workshops in Nairn.

The Touring Network was also proud to support Horse's first gig in Nairn through funding from our Programming Pot.

You can find out more about getting involved in The Touring Network on our website - link in bio.

Plus grab a ticket for Horse's next gig in Nairn on 23 October, if you're in the area!

We’re grateful to @creativescots for their support in making these opportunities possible. by @thetouringnetwork

Our Annual Review 2025–26 is here! ✨

“Culture, connection and community belong everywhere.”

We’re celebrating another year of remarkable performances, stronger connections and collaboration across rural Scotland – made possible by our brilliant network of promoters, performers, venues and volunteers.

Here are just a few highlights:

➡198 people came together at our two Gatherings, with 100% of respondents saying they felt more connected to their peers.

➡Our micro-networks continued to grow, helping promoters collaborate on better-routed, more sustainable tours – including a new network across the North and Western Isles.

➡ Our Programming Pot supported 14 professional performers to reach 12 communities, with an estimated audience of 801 people.

➡ We continued to champion greener touring, supporting multi-venue tours and environmentally focused work.

➡ 631 pupils experienced live theatre and dance through our partnership with Theatre in Schools Scotland.

➡ And our new website has already seen more than 300 events listed, helping shine a spotlight on the incredible work happening across our network.

Thank you to all our members, artists, partners and funders who make this work possible 🌱

Read our Annual Review 2025–26 via the link in our bio and find out more about what we’ve achieved together.

Absolutely over the moon that tomorrow night at An Tobar is SOLD OUT!!

The boys and I have been jamming through the songs the last couple of days and we’ve decided — no backing tracks, no click, we’re just gonna go for it and give you the rawest version of Weight Will Unwind we can.

With lighting design by Louise Gregory and the whole thing being filmed live by Rob McDougall, it’s shaping up to be a really special night.

Can’t quite believe it. See you tomorrow ❤️ by @thetouringnetwork

$Next Thursday I’ll be playing Weight Will Unwind live in full at An Tobar. Dylan Cooper (@dylanlouiecooper) on bass and backing vocals, James Grantham (@fracturecapture) on drums and Jack Whittaker (@jackwh1ttaker_) on guitar and keys, plus a few pals joining us for some special numbers. The whole gig will be filmed live by Rob McDougall (@robmcdougallphoto), with Ellie Campbell’s (@ragnoollz) rotoscope animations projected throughout and lighting design by Louise Gregory (@louisetech). Really excited to finally play this record the way we imagined it. Thursday 24 September, 8pm An Tobar, Tobermory Under half the tickets left now! Massive thanks to The Touring Network for helping make it happen ✨ by @thetouringnetwork$

What does The Touring Network mean to you?

We recently spoke to Jenny from Arnisdale and Loch Hourn Community Association, who manage The Ceilidh House and Heritage Centre. She told us a little about how The Touring Network helps to support her to bring high quality live performances to the community there.

The Touring Network is proud to support our promoter members, who work across the region. About 70% are volunteers or promoting as a secondary job.

Thanks to ongoing support from @creativescotland we are able to provide opportunities for members to network, upskill, discover new work, meet touring performers, and access straightforward funding to put on shows 🌱

Why are the arts important to your community?

We recently spoke to Rachel from @craignishvillagehall about why it matters that rural communities get to see theatre, music and dance shows in their local village hall or arts centre.

Thanks to support from @creativescotland, The Touring Network works with people across the Highlands and Islands to bring high-quality live performances to their own communities, helping to make these communities more vibrant places to live, work and visit.
