 But somehow, once it’s over, you feel good. You pushed yourself, did something uncomfortable, and realized you’re capable of more than you thought. That’s what the Challenger is about. Getting out of your comfort zone, testing yourself and doing it alongside brothers who are going through the same struggle. You don’t have to be the fittest guy in the room. The UmmahFit Challenge is a timed fitness challenge built for anyone who wants to find out what they’re really capable of. Every challenger completes the same 10 zones in order, on one continuous clock. The zones test your strength, your conditioning and your ability to keep moving when you’re tired. They include rowing, farmer’s carries, ball slams, the air bike and weighted burpees. When you cross the finish, your time is recorded. That time becomes your standard, and every event after that is a chance to beat it. You don’t need to be an athlete to take part. You only need to be willing to be tested. That’s why there are two divisions. The Standard Challenger is built for first timers and every fitness level. You’ll complete all 10 zones with no running between them. If you’ve never done anything like this before, this is where you start. The Pro Challenger is for returning challengers and anyone ready for more. You’ll complete the same 10 zones with a 160 meter run after each one, which adds up to a full mile by the finish. Once you start, you finish. This isn’t only about fitness. It’s about a community that shows up, pushes each other and raises the standard together. You’ll leave with a time to beat and people who will be there when you come back to beat it. The Challenge takes place on October 24 at BattleZone Gym in Franklin Square. Pro Challenger start times run from 8AM to 10AM, and Standard Challenger start times run from 10AM to 12PM. Being strong is one thing. Staying strong when you’re exhausted is another. That’s how we designed the UMMAHFIT Challenger. 10 zones that test your strength while constantly pushing your cardiovascular endurance. And for PRO, another mile on top of it. Your heart rate is up, your muscles are tired, and you still have work to do. That’s when the mental side kicks in. You start questioning your pace, your ability, how much you have left. And you realize something: being uncomfortable doesn’t always mean you’re incapable. That’s what makes this challenge different. You’re not just testing what your body can do. One of the hardest things to change is your mindset. We spend years stuck in the same patterns, asking ourselves the same questions and wondering why nothing changes. Sometimes, the problem isn’t your effort. It’s the way you think. Change your questions. Change your life. by @theummah.fit
How about we don’t change our daily routine just because everyone else is celebrating something? Instead, let’s make our own Eids bigger than ever. Let’s celebrate our children’s achievements and give them something meaningful to look forward to. We need to stop assuming that feeling left out is always a bad thing. Sometimes, constantly trying to protect our kids from feeling different is really us projecting insecurities we never grew out of. We grew up wanting to fit in, and now we’re afraid our children might experience that same feeling. That’s a hard pill to swallow. Islam was never meant to conform to every social norm. It came to challenge them. And that starts with the small things. You may disagree, and that’s fine. But when the majority is moving in one direction, we need people willing to remind us to pull back and question where we’re heading. Not every uncomfortable feeling needs a distraction. Not every difference needs to be softened. And not everything needs to be made acceptable just because society has normalized it. Otherwise, we slowly lose our identity, one small compromise at a time, while finding excuses for why each one is harmless. Get used to being uncomfortable. Get used to hearing truths that challenge you. And most importantly, learn to question your own thought patterns, especially the ones you’ve become so comfortable with that you no longer think to question them. by @theummah.fit

One hard workout can push you. But what you do consistently is what changes you. That’s why we structured UMMAHFIT around 4 Sunday training sessions and 1 Saturday mobility session every month. The Sunday Sessions focus on building strength, endurance, and the habit of showing up, even when you don’t feel like it. You’re training alongside brothers who are also trying to become better versions of themselves. The monthly mobility session focuses on something most of us neglect: how well our bodies actually move. We want to improve flexibility, address stiffness, and build the capacity to stay active long-term. Because the goal isn’t just to perform well at the next Challenger event. It’s to make being active, disciplined, and physically capable a normal part of our lives. We’re building a community of men who don’t just talk about improving, but consistently put in the work. Big shoutout to Oud Rang Bar for pulling up to the UMMAHFIT Challenger and saving us from stinking after those 10 zones And Salim stays keeping it real with me, saving me from embarrassing myself. That’s the kind of personal trainer you want. Someone who tells you what you need to hear. All jokes aside, this is probably the only ittar I wear where people actually stop me and ask what I have on. I don’t know what he puts in it, but it lasts longer than the ones I’ve brought back from Saudi. What I appreciate most is connecting with like-minded brothers who understand the vision behind UMMAHFIT.
