To one of my favorite humans and supporters of @thepreservatory.life mission, @flippinsquishies of @themosaic.art — I love you to the moon and beyond!
As Monica knows me well, throwing events is super challenging and takes a ton of time, energy, and community support to make it a success. I specifically desired this year to have a cypher — a circle of community healing, like the Care Bear Stare concept from the Care Bears I loved watching in my youth. And respectfully, with my personal mental health challenges and tribulations, I can, well, quite frankly, be a little grumpy at times! As many of you know, I’ve been healing from severe post-concussive syndrome that has kept me from enjoying dancing, music, community, and, quite frankly, life. Initially, I was intending to cancel this year’s event due to my mental and physical capacity, yet we pushed through, as I needed purpose and community as much as anyone else does. Recently, I’ve started smiling again and finding joy in my life as I've been healing and nurtured with love, understanding, and support and I’m deeply grateful for the people and community who helped make that possible and stayed in my corner. We collectively made this not just work, but an incredible day of healing with amazing humans and healers!
Thank you all for taking me as I am, for your support, giving me grace and for seeing it through. This is mental health support we all need folks! We love you, and I’m so excited to see where we will be next year as I continue my own healing journey. If you miss an event, I feel like supporting life preservation with us please consider donating to our link in bio or at www.thePreservatory.life. Your support is greatly appreciated. One love, community.
