When your best friend of 25 years is getting married and you're one of her bridesmaids... 💚💍

...but you're also a Scout Leader. ⚜️

Let's just say the wedding has had a very thorough (unofficial!) risk assessment, and I've packed something for every potential disaster I could think of. 😂

Hopefully none of it will be needed—but if it is, I'm ready!

One thing my child is absolutely loving this summer? 🌊🐋

A self-paced Polar Oceans course on @outschool It's packed with fascinating marine biology, amazing Arctic and Antarctic animals, and lets them learn at their own pace whenever it suits us.

If you've got an ocean-loving child, it's definitely worth a look! Use my code BEAL50 to save on your first class. 💙

One of my favourite things about teaching on @outschool 🐴💚

I get to spend my days talking about horses with horse-crazy kids who are just as obsessed as I am! From horse behaviour and care to breeds, riding, and all those random horse facts we could chat about for hours... it's honestly the best job.

If your child has a horse obsession too, come and join us! Use my code BEAL50 to save on your first class.

AI can be an incredible tool, but some things will always be deeply human. 🤍

I don't think AI will ever replace true empathy, emotional intelligence, or great leadership.

What would you add to the list?

🌍 One of my favourite things about home education is being able to follow my kids’ interests — and lately, languages have become a big thing in our house.

We mostly use Outschool self-paced classes, which works so well for our family because the kids can learn at their own speed without the pressure of live lessons. There are worksheets and activities involved, but because the topics are engaging and flexible, it feels enjoyable instead of stressful ✨

It’s been especially helpful for my neurodivergent kids, who often learn best when they can pause, revisit things, and work in their own time.

I also love that it gives our summer a little bit of structure without making the whole day feel over-planned ☀️

If you want to try it with your family too, you can use my code BEAL50 💛

Outschool has made things so much more flexible for families.

You can now book classes whenever you need them — no Membership required — or choose Membership if you want something more consistent.

As a home-educating family, I really appreciate being able to switch between the two depending on what our week looks like. Sometimes we want regular sessions, sometimes we just need one class to support a specific interest.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Outschool, you can use my code BEAL50 for $40 off your first two months of Membership or $50 off your first classes.

12 years ago, I became the mother of a little girl.
I had no blueprint to follow.

The only example I had was how not to do it — all the things not to say, all the things not to do, and all the ways not to be.
My own mother only taught me things that you should not do to your daughter.

So when I first held you in my arms, Bessie, my one wish was that you always knew how important, loved, cherished, wanted, and seen you are.

That you are accepted and adored just as you are.
That you will be held through all of your feelings and experiences, no matter how high the highs or how low the lows — until my very last breath.
And even then, wherever we go after this life, I will still try to hold you there too.

Happy Birthday beautiful Bessie. 😍 by @thewildflowerpathuk

Last year taught me a lot about my limits and my capacity —
about how easily I can pour out without noticing I’ve run empty,
about how saying yes to everything doesn’t make life bigger, just heavier.

So in 2026, I am choosing what nourishes me —
my husband who loves me gently,
my children who fill my life with noise and wonder,
my animals who ground me,
the friendships and connections that feel safe and mutual.
Walks, laughter, creativity, slow mornings, adventures,
home education, making memories,
choosing joy and peace over obligation.

This year I move toward relationships, routines, and choices that bring peace, not panic.
Toward people who hold space for me.
Toward the life that feels like mine.

2026 — peace over everything.
Peace in my home, peace in my heart, peace in my choices.

Outschool is running a Music Showcase for kids and teens ages 6–18, and it’s the sweetest confidence-boosting opportunity. 🌿✨

If your child loves to sing, perform, play an instrument, or express themselves creatively, you can submit a 2–3 minute video of their talent — and prizes total up to $1,000 across the categories.

There are three types of entries:
🎤 Vocal
🎻 Instrumental
🎭 Performance

The process is simple: record → upload → submit.
Such a lovely way to celebrate our kids’ gifts and help them share their musical world with others. 💛

Teaching teens on Outschool is one of the best parts of what I do. Older learners bring so much energy, insight, and curiosity to every discussion — and the small class sizes mean we can really dive into the deeper, more complex conversations that spark growth.

I love that Outschool gives educators the freedom to teach what they’re passionate about, while giving teens a space where their ideas matter and their independence is respected.

For anyone who’s ever wondered what teaching older learners on Outschool looks like — it’s thoughtful, challenging, meaningful, and honestly such a joy. 🌿✨
