When you get handed a fleece from the best kind of friends and just can't wait to use it. This haunui is just so decadent, I had to work it into this year's 12 days spin along! Link to sign up is now live on the shop, and historically fills up quickly.

Edit: I have reached the cap for this year and signups are closed, if I manage to make extra I will post an update closer to Christmas! by @thewoodlandpixie

Making good progress on the booth! Tons of nests and squishy batts this year on addition to the spindles and braids. #newyorksheepandwoolfestival #rhinebeck2026 #supportedspindle #handspinnersofinstagram by @thewoodlandpixie

Starting the best weekend of the year! #rhinebeckny #nysheepandwoolfestival by @thewoodlandpixie

If you've known me for a long time, you knew this was coming 🤣. One of my very first weaving projects was a baby wrap for my daughter inspired by Tolkien's Smaug. She is a little too big to carry on my back at this point but the love for dragons is undying. Which version do you prefer, the simple gradient or the expanded smoky set? I'll have BOTH at Rhinebeck in two weeks!! by @thewoodlandpixie

Now that we're solidly into September I'd like to introduce "Entwife", a new double gradient for this year's Rhinebeck festival. This one will not be going to the online shop - come see us in New York! Building 22d, booth 13 ❤️

Autumn has started here, and my handspun Rhinebeck sweater is well underway. Antipodes with my Equinox colorway (somehow equinox just seemed the right thing to go with the idea of Antipodes) and a semisolid black handspun rambouillet to give a hopefully stained glass effect. It's a really unique and engaging construction, definitely not a mindless knitting walk project, but it's growing fast because it's interesting to do ❤️

My day was spent listening to rain and packaging up "City of Starlight" bundles, so I have to say it was a good day. I am listing just a couple tomorrow and packing up the rest for Rhinebeck! by @thewoodlandpixie

Photo submission thread is open for the 12 days spin along this year! If you have a photo you'd love to see done as a mystery colorway, definitely pop in the ravelry group and share (and don't forget to vote for your favorites!)

For visibility tax, I finished enough of my Antipodes spin to swatch and cast on! This is rambouillet spun this month, very squishy and cozy. Now for the annual game of "will I have time to finish knitting by Rhinebeck?" 🤣😭 by @thewoodlandpixie

Toadstool is back, in very limited numbers! With school starting soon and fall around the corner, I'm working on filling in sets for Rhinebeck inventory, which means bunches of partial batches hitting the shop instead of a more cohesive drop. Check in on Saturdays to see what's new ! #fiberartistsofinstagram #indiedyer #handspinning #newyorksheepandwoolfestival by @thewoodlandpixie

Might have gotten carried away on the texture on this one 😬 so much silk! #partytree #fiberartistsofinstagram by @thewoodlandpixie

July spindling in one frame (barely). My flicking hand is very sore and demanding a few days off, so it might be plying time. #spindlespinning #handspunyarn #supportedspindle @woodlandwoodworking by @thewoodlandpixie

Spent an evening this week teaching the youngest how I make batts. He had fun but decided it's an awful lot of work 😅 #fiberartistsofinstagram #handspinning by @thewoodlandpixie
