Maya Angelou once said: “Nothing can dim the light that shines within” & within my journey here at THE Spelman College, I would be lying if I did not say, there were so many moments where my light started to dim. As a first generation black woman from the hard streets of Philadelphia, my pathway was destined for failure, but I beat the odds and now I am living proof that no matter what people write for you, do what you love and never let them kill your heart, spirit, and light within.

To Spelman,
Never would I thought this dream I had since 5th grade would come to a reality. Thank you so much for molding me into the woman I wanted to be leaving your remarkable institution. Creating a woman who is no longer afraid to take up space. I promise to take everything i have learned from you with me in my path to adulthood.
I’m so glad I made the choice to change the world. 🩵

To My Amazing Psychology Department:
Thank you so much for giving me the knowledge to succeed. Thank you for saving me from limiting myself to what I know and doing something that I passionately love. ✨

To My Family & Friends:
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have you all here by my side. You were my motivation to keep going. I could not have asked for a better support team. I know that this is not just an accomplishment for me but for all of us.❤️
