Winter Solstice Blessings! Today, it is Winter! The longest night of the year is today. The light only returns now until Spring- the days growing longer and brighter. Rejoice and rest together with those who make you feel safe, seen and heard. ๐ŸŒธโ„๏ธ Spending my Solstice time off studying my course work with APPA, and snuggling my kids.๐Ÿ’ Gorgeous art is by @erica_peebus_art by @thirdcoastplacentaarts
New logo by the very talented: @luckypenagain !!๐Ÿ’˜ For my placenta encapsulation business I am building now in the Mitten, coming from Denver. @pomegranatepostpartum ๐Ÿฅน Now enrolled in @placenta_association - been so ready for more training. I was trained by THE Jasmine Krapf @alchemyafterbirth. She is now in Alaska catching babies and centering the birther- doing big things in the final stages of midwifery school. She is a blessing beyond and none of us deserve her! I canโ€™t thank her enough for her wisdom and support in this life. Feeling safe in your body helps a ton if youโ€™d like to study. Not everyone has that privilege and they are still showing up for the marginalized communities. They are US. Actually. Bless. by @thirdcoastplacentaarts
Hello all. My name is Shaina Michelle and I am absolutely, undoubtedly fascinated by the human placenta. Itโ€™s why I am working so hard to create @pomegranatepostpartum no matter what life serves up for me. Itโ€™s been rough. Canโ€™t lie. I have two lovely humans I grew in my womb, a daughter and son. Their birth experiences alone changed my life course as someone who identifies as a womxn. It is my own trauma and healing that keep me circling back to birth work in any way shape and form. I have been a free birth doula mostly. A hand full of womxn have trusted my intuition and service. But I grew weary on the birth worker front lines. I have since been finding my way in service to those who carry life within, and those who choose not to. I find I can offer my full love in placenta wisdom. I want nothing more than to return the medicine of the placenta back to the birther for nourishment. The history of obstetrics and current common practices around birth and postpartum especially leave me more than rageful, so here I am again showing up how I can to those that birth in 2025. I am moving back to my home state and hope to share my talents there abundantly. (Michigan) Thank you so much for being here, seeking my services and trusting me with an organ you grew, witnessing me pause as a human and lovingly take time to build the kind of birther-centered care I want to share. by @thirdcoastplacentaarts

The placenta is our first relationship. It is the literal site of connection between our new body and that of our mother/parent. In the watery world of the unborn, the placenta beats out an ancient rhythm, tethering us to life itself. ~Beyond the Birth Room, Building a Positive- Placenta Culture, Amy Stenzel by @thirdcoastplacentaarts

โ€œSexual reproduction, the act of creating new life, only works because of the placenta. As mammals, we reproduce sexually, so sex is the reddest, hottest tile in the mosaic of our earthly lives, and the placenta is the mandala in the center of this miracle.โ€ - Robin Lim by @thirdcoastplacentaarts
