I’m so grateful for the many new and old friends, creative fellows and followers on here. It’s been a minute since I’ve been on IG. More like 788,401 minutes…but who’s counting.

In the time I’ve taken off, I developed film projects and commercial packages, I wrote a full length feature film, I gardened, I hiked, I made flower infused ice creams, I developed new and deeper friendships, I invested in my community, I got married. The shadow work I triumphed from and continue to do is a practice of releasing myself from old traumas, resentments, and negative patterns. It’s been a very productive time.

This all being said I’d like to reintroduce myself and welcome everyone here to this space of creativity, love, and care. Hi! I’m Maggie Miller. I’m an artist, filmmaker, and writer creating enigmatic screenplays, films, and large scale installations about relationship dynamics, desire and our connections with the natural and supernatural world and Mother Earth. I specialize in creating lush imagery, strong female iconography, and tightly woven narratives with a subtle humorous bent.

I’m also a business owner and have worked with clients for 25+ years. My art studio and production company is called Mason Jar @thisizmasonjar_studios, which we make large scale installations, music videos, commercials, branding campaigns, photographs, and Objet d’art. We also design record albums, pitch-decks, and art books.

We bring support and empowerment to our clients through creative ideas that help launch their products.

I’m interested in promoting a feminine economy which embraces transforming our relationship with money, with work, with the Earth, with our bodies, and with each other. To find out more about developing a feminine economy in your business - please check out @sister.is.

I am a #Virgo with a Sagittarius rising and a Capricorn moon.

I reside on the unceded land of the Gabrielino-Tongva Indian Tribe (aka Los Angeles) 3 blocks away from the Paayme Paxaayt (aka LosAngeles River) with my husband @fredarbegast, our garden, and our adorable cat, Dusty Miller.

Today marks what would have been my mom, Mary’s, 89th birthday. She was on born March 21, 1937 in Phoenix, Arizona on the first day of Spring.💐
Today feels quite weepy for me. I’m so grateful that she was and is my mom. She was fun. She was a lady. She had a great sense of humor. She was a great cook. She enjoyed nature. She always dreamed of taking more photos. Lately, I’ve been grieving around a whole lot of things. You know what I’m talking about - you know the list. But for this moment, on a deeply personal note, I’m shedding tears today cause I just really miss her.. I also feel really lucky, because these tears are a measure of how much I have the capacity to love, to be loved and to care for and about others, my community , the state of the world, our environment and our global family planet.
What our country is doing to the rest of the world right now makes me feel really really sad. But my mother also taught me that I can do something about it. And I have only to look to Mother Nature to see proof of the abundance she constantly shares and provides for me and for you and all of us together. Sending you my love.
May we all come together in love and practice being kindly servants to our planet and help us create more peace, love and prosperity.

I come home, he lifted up his wings
I guess that this must be the place
I can’t tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
….You got a face with a view 🥰 Baby
Happy Valentine’s Day💘
Thanks for making my life so much sweeter. Love you with all my heart ❤️ by @thisizmasonjar

We joined the No Kings protest today out of deep concern for the health of our democracy. As Bernie Sanders said, this isn’t just about one man’s greed or contempt for the Constitution—it’s about the wealthiest few whose insatiable greed has hijacked our economy and politics at the expense of working families.

Standing together in community felt powerful—an antidote to helplessness and despair. Showing up to protest is, for me, an act of patriotism and civic duty. #nokings #thisaggresionwillnotstandman #thedudeabides #worldpeas #wirledpeas #tuckfrump by @thisizmasonjar

I’ve been holding this sorrowful truth for a while, and it’s finally time for me to share.
Today I announce and remember my brother, Patrick William Miller. Pat had the sweetest smile, an infectious laugh, and a love for rock ’n’ roll that never faded. He was the oldest of us five siblings, and he always found ways to carve out his own path—whether it was starting a dog walking business as a kid or spending endless summers surfing and boogie boarding with our family in La Jolla.
One of my favorite memories of Pat was a bumper sticker he had on the back of his car that read, “A fool and his money are soon partying,” a twist on Shakespeare’s “A fool and his money are soon parted.” That was my brother—raw, funny, indignant, a giant tease. Bless his Pisces soul.
He loved ACDC, the Beach Boys, and any good concert he could find.
I miss him deeply, and I carry his spirit with me every day.
I made him a playlist and thought I would share with you. I hope you enjoy it. 🧡 I think it would be a good soundtrack to any number of activities such as: ATC riding, driving on dirt roads, head banging, hiking, 🥾 cooking, dancing in your garden by moonlight ..kinda playlist - you can find it under Spotify Account| Mason Jar + Fire Monkey by @thisizmasonjar

🐾ADOPT YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!🐾
Meet The Little Guy — a moonlit, tiger-striped sweetheart looking for his purr-ever furr-ever home.

He’s about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and recently vet-checked (healthy & negative for FeLV, FIV, and heartworm!).

Found wandering our neighborhood after a storm, he was skinny, starving, injured, and clearly abandoned. But he’s a total lovebug—snuggly, playful, follows us on walks, and loves human attention. He even walked right into his carrier (with a little food!).

He’s not feral—just a gentle soul ready for safety, cuddles, and a cozy home.

even Joni Mitchell painted a portrait of him with her for her album!!!! Cat star power quality!! 😻🤩

Please DM if you or someone you know can help!

#iamresilient #waxinggibbousmoon🌔 the spring waxing moon is the time of year most influenced by the earth element. This is an extra luscious time of regeneration, providing us with an opportunity to experience our own powerful energy and strength. It is during this time that we are reminded that we are strong and wildly resilient. Like seed sprouting after a long winter, we have the potential for expansion stored within us. May this vibrant season, be a reminder that, even when life feels dark or the going gets tough, you have the ability to bounce back. Written by Dakota Hills and Sierra Brashear. It’s been a really tough 24 hours here in Los Angeles. Please help us pray for the fires to be contained and put out . Also let’s pray for rain and marine layers to set in. Thank you to all of the firefighters and first responders. I’m feeling so sad for all of the friends and community members who are having to evacuate. Prayers for all the people by @thisizmasonjar

@librarycongress Something to ponder as you head out to vote today, for free. In the Library's Rosa Parks Papers collection, there's a receipt for the poll tax she had to pay to vote in Alabama in 1956. Poll taxes, a Jim Crow-era voter suppression tool, were not abolished federally until 1964.

See more of the Rosa Parks Papers at the Library by visiting the link in our bio.
