The unofficial guide to the best (and the worst) pints I come across during visits to boozers in London and beyond. Cheers 🍻

Things are looking up!

Spice Bags and Murphy's in a spoons. I know the spice bags in here are nothing compared to Ireland and other establishments in town but nice to see it on the menu.

Onto the pint, and what a steal at £2.99. A much better pint of Murphys in here compared to other boozers in the area where you'd expect a decent pour.

Thick, smooth and with a lovely flavour. Nice bit of shtick the whole way through as well.

Great little spot if you're waiting for the tube at Baker St.

The Metropolitan Bar, Baker St Station Pint Rating - 7.9/10

Another boozer found in central that have Beamish on tap. Was buzzing to get in there, however that soon died after the first sup.

The pint didn't look too bad whilst waiting for the settle, just the dirty glass making it look less attractive.

First gulp and noticed how thin the pint felt which is reflected in the last photo.

Zero stick.

Also had a bitterness that I haven't experienced before in a Beamish.

Fair play to the bar staff though, very friendly and poured the pint well.

Just needs a little bit more work 🍻

The Smugglers Tavern, Fitzrovia Pint Rating - 5.8/10

If I see any signs of an Irish boozer up town, I automatically start making plans to stop by.

The tri-colour waving in the wind above the door caught my eye one day whilst walking up Tottenham Court Road. So when a meeting on a site nearby was delayed, this was my 'Pret' to go and get the laptop out for 30mins or so.

Another nice little surprise this one.

Decent hissing sound from the tap which is always your first indication that the pint has a chance of being a good'un.

Nice clean glass, very presentable on the eye, with a smooth and thick top end.

I liked it.

Definitely worth a stop off if passing by.

It’s a rare occasion that you are poured a pint that tastes as creamy and perfect as it looks, like this absolute beauty at The Ship at Porlock Weir.
Somerset’s finest Guinness? Very possibly!

One of my favourite pubs in town to use as a pit stop when on a wonder.

And luckily enough it also serves great pints.

Very smooth and served at the perfect temperature. Just could have done with a couple more milliseconds under the tap to give it a nice bit of domage.

But the shtick made up for that 🍻

The Lamb & Flag, Covent Garden Pint Rating - 8/10

Buzzing that I found a pub not too far from home where @beamishstout is being sold on tap.

Never even knew the gaff existed but I definitely do now. Hopefully many more visits to come.

Poured properly by an Irish bar maid, the pint looked solid.

I dived in.

Very impressed to be fair. Decent thickness, great taste, and some pretty good stick. A slightly dirty glass caused it to lose a few points though.

Definitely recommend you stop by if you're in the area or heading the the stadium or arena for an event.

Always a cracking pint at @thesheephavenbay 🙌🏻 🍻

A stop off over the Christmas period didn't disappoint. A pub with a top atmosphere serving absolute creamers.

Reviewed before so no need to do it again just as the photos show!

Very disappointing unfortunately!

After traipsing across town to go to one of the only pubs I know in the capital that serves the Holy Trinity, I was served this monstrosity.

Was gutted as I was buzzing for a Beamish. Hopes were high as I've had the Guinness in here before which was cracking and the plan was to sink a pint of all 3.

But that went out of the window after this pint.

It still amazes me that bar staff over here can't pour a stout properly. Surely on your first day in the job, you're told that stouts are poured differently to other beers.

I'd poured my own pint earlier in the day at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and did a better job.

The first part of the pour was stopped halfway up the glass. Not an expert but I'm pretty sure that's what caused the huge head.

And to top it off, the glass also included pink lippy marks. Not good.

Hopefully a future visit will have a better outcome.

One of County Harrow & Wealdstone's finest!

A beauty of a pint 😍

What was supposed to be the first pub of the trip ended up being our last. And what a fitting way to end the couple of days in Dublin town with pints and food in this legendary place.

One of those boozers that just has an aura about the place.

My pal definitely got served the better looking pint of the first couple we had in here, but none the less, mine was still an absolute beauty.

The hype is real, this really was the best pint I have ever had.

What I'd give to be back in there right now.

The Irish Stew and Coddle were both also amazing, the place really does have it all.
